"Mylene is wonderful! I went to her for a full initial round (3x) of microneedling with SkinPen and all went well. At my first session, we talked through general medical history and Mylene made sure to answer any questions I had for her. During the microneedling sessions, she made sure I was comfortable and not feeling pain, and that the numbing cream was doing its job. I didn't have a sense of how much microneedling might hurt before I did it, but I am happy to report that it is really not a big deal at all, at least not when Mylene does it! Another thing I appreciate about Mylene is her passion and respect for what she does. You can see on her Instagram and from talking to her that she has a desire to keep learning, training, and improving herself and her practice, as well as to then go and teach others with whom she can share her skills and knowledge. This is great for something like microneedling but perhaps even more so for more aesthetic-focused treatments: certainly if I were getting a very precise treatment like botox or fillers, I would want my provider to be passionate about providing that service and very knowledgeable about the best techniques and approach, and any possible side effects. On this note, as other reviewers have mentioned, she definitely keeps her studio clean and specifically emphasizes that she does everything by the book. If she's dermaplaning you, she's using a new, sterile razor blade. If she's giving you botox, you can look at the vial. Some places try to cut corners on health, safety, and overall legitimacy, which is terrible and scary, but Mylene is a pro and does it all by the book, which is very important! An additional note is that before I made my first appointment, I messaged Mylene and asked if she would be willing to wear a mask (KN95 or better) if I came and got microneedling from her, especially since I obviously can't wear a mask myself during that. She said yes, which was great, and she always followed through at my appointments, which is even better. This is really important to me and I appreciate her willingness to mask for both of our safety and health (she wore N95s). She mentioned that it was not a big deal since she is used to wearing masks in her work as a nurse. I agree it definitely shouldn't be a big deal, but unfortunately some providers refuse to accommodate this safety request, so I am very happy to have found Mylene with her willingness to accommodate my request.
