"We've been taking our Golden Retriever here since they opened and have been very happy with the services. The staff are friendly and informative. The price is very reasonable. We normally do the basic package, so our dog does come home slightly damp, but we are fine with that. I've upgraded to the blowout and de-shedding treatment recently and have been very happy. Our dog looks beautiful. I love that I can pick the level of service for our dog since sometimes we just need a quick wash versus the full treatment. And with reasonable pricing, I'm definitely getting my money's worth. I'm very happy with these guys!"

"ETA: The owner has contacted us privately, and my husband was able to chat with her regarding our concerns. We're hopeful for an improved experience for next time, and hopefully beyond. This is a unique grooming option for Boise, and we would like to continue utilizing it should our visits improve. Our initial visit in January was great. The employees that greeted us were kind, patient with our excited dogs, and overall welcoming. Before leaving they asked if we were okay with them being a little damp upon pick up - totally fine. We received call/text notification when they were done in about an hour. There was a particularly bad snowstorm that day, so we let them know we were en route but slow due to weather. No issues whatsoever, and overall a good experience. Our second appointment in February was less courteous. We mixed up appointment times and had arrived early, but they said it wasn't an issue and they would take them back. We were more than happy to come back at the correct time, but they insisted it was fine. This time, we received notification both dogs were done in less than 35 minutes. I assumed they rushed through their bath given the schedule mix up - which was a little annoying given the fact we were happy to adjust according to our mistake. We went to pick them up, and the person we spoke with was super passive aggressive - seemingly over having a 30 minute time frame between receiving the notification they were done, and when we got back for pick up. We live 20 minutes away, and didn't think it was an issue. Our dogs were still very wet when picked up - more so than the time before, which was a little disappointing. We understood a complete blow dry and brush was extra which is fine, but based on the previous visit, we weren't sure that we needed it. Today was downright rude. We arrived 10 minutes behind schedule - completely on us due to unforeseen circumstances. We were fully prepared to reschedule, but was treated as though there was no issue. This time, we added a brush and blow dry for our longer haired dog at their suggestion to make sure he wouldn't have tangled wet hair. I also inquired about a haircut for next time, and booked that and other "add on" services for our next appointment. We really didn't have any context or communication regarding how the blow dry would affect the time, but had a pretty open and flexible day. We received a text about our shorter haired dog's "S.C.E.N.T" check (usually sent about 5-10 minutes ahead of getting notification they're done) within 20 minutes of leaving. We waited around 30 minutes before running an errand to make sure we wouldn't get a notification they were ready shortly after the first message. Around an hour and 45 min, we saw a missed voicemail from 12 minutes prior saying they were done. We were wrapping up our errand and heading that way. Less than 20 minutes after that first call, while en route, we missed a second call (phone was on silent), and a nasty message saying we needed to come get our dogs, they had been there "a while", they were barking and if we weren't there soon, they would charge us a holding fee - something we weren't aware of. We called back to assure them we route. Upon arrival a few minutes later (barely 30 min. since the initial phone call at this point), they were uncomfortably passive aggressive, saying things like "Finally! It's quiet in here". We were blindsided. It's one thing to be frustrated had our dogs been done for an extended amount of time with no communication (which was not the case). It's another to run a grooming facility, complain about dogs barking, and act as if we had irresponsibly left our dogs for hours. Our dogs have one more scheduled appointment next month, assuming we keep that one. So disappointed in what seems to have been a rapid downhill experience."

"I love the people at Scenthound. I have 3 dogs and I feel that their wellness is in good hands with the team. Their services are very affordable and they truly care about our dogs wellbeing. It’s nice to work with people who care as much as we do about our babies."

"I take both of my dogs who are miniature dachshund to scenthound. The service is phenomenal and there’s a personal touch with the owner every time. If I had anywhere to bring the most loved possessions of my life, I would take them to Senthound"

"I do NOT recommend this groomer. I was initially excited for the price but the poor customer service negates any perceived value. I took my 3 dogs to two appointments at the new Boise Scenthound. The first experience was great- no complaints! The young gal at the front desk was kind and welcomed my 3 dogs. I did not pay to have them blown out but they were very thoroughly towel dried and only damp when I picked them up. My second experience was AWFUL. I had called ahead because due to unforeseen circumstances, I was running behind to my 9:15 appointment. The employee that answered the phone assured me it was no issue and she’d see us when we got there. I arrived 11 minutes late for my appointment. I quickly parked and ran in apologizing for being late and thanking them for accommodating me. The older (mother, I believe) owner was there obviously fuming while waiting those 11 minutes. She was immediately so aggressive, rude and condescending to me about being late. I was shocked (nearly speechless) at her behavior. It caught me off guard because the employee on the phone did not express frustration or any issue with me arriving late. I quickly stated I would just reschedule because clearly I ruined her entire schedule for the day. She insisted that they take my dogs but would not take them if I were that late again in the future. I knew in that moment I will never return to this establishment so I tried to just leave but she insisted and made it awkward so I relented. Well… my dogs got the worst grooming they’ve ever had. I did not pay for them to be blown out but they were returned to me soaking wet! Dripping water! And one of my dogs toenails was bleeding pretty badly from being cut too short (which happened to one of my dogs on the first visit too). I felt like they were pissed I was 11 minutes late, verbally assaulted me upon arrival and then gave my dogs a terrible grooming to prove a point. It was beyond upsetting. The woman did apologize for “jumping on me” as soon as I walked in but no apology justifies that type of poor customer service. Had she or the employee respectfully explained if I were 10 (or 15 minutes perhaps) late that they would not be able to honor my appointment I would have understood no issue. Or if I had been respectfully asked not to arrive so late next time- totally reasonable. But there is just no justification for the foul way I was treated. Such a disappointment."
