"Rustic, peaceful, and exactly what we required. As a family with one much younger child, the river access wasn't ideal for the littlest one. However, it is what it is, and it was not an issue for anyone else in our family, nor did it hinder our enjoyment of our week. Thanks, Shoalnook Cabins, for a lovely stay!"
"Very nice place to spend the weekend especially if you can rent multiple cabins together as a cabins are very close together. They could have maybe been cleaned a little bit better as we found a bowl of moldy beans in the microwave. There was also a bunch of black starlings nesting in the eaves that would wake us up very early in the morning. But all in all it was a very nice place and we enjoyed the train going by one night."
"The owners were very friendly and went out of there way to make our stay enjoyable. We are kayakers and we loved the James river! The cabins are only about 30 minutes from Branson, so we enjoyed a show one evening. There isn't a TV in the cabin so enjoy the games they have available or bring a good book to read on the front porch."
"Clean, fascinating, set up with delightful aspects for a fun country stay! Even down to the horseshoe game down the hill from the cabin and the basket of games in the kitchen. The children and I loved the loft! Such a delightful place to play and sleep! The beds so comfortable! The porch is my other favorite place with it's wide veranda type, long bench and high table and stool all made of fascinating smooth wood, with the rustic charm!"
