Cascade Hotel, Kansas City, a Tribute Portfolio Hotel

"Brand new hotel. I travel all the time and stay exclusively at Marriott properties. This is one of the top five nicest hotels I've stayed at. I received a complementary upgrade to a huge suite, so maybe my review is a little biased. The rooms are very modern. The hotel shares the property with an adjoining Aloft hotel. You can access the common areas in the Aloft like bar and food area. The gym is pretty large and has great equipment. Will return."

"Stayed for the weekend trip. New hotel with inadequate service. Stayed in a larger room with a non working tv. Plastic shower curtain and cheap rod that would not stay up. Disappointing for a brand new hotel. Talked to 3 different people about scheduling house keeping and still no service. Called and talked to the front desk about room issues and was told a manager would contact me. NOBODY contacted me during my stay. Best thing about the hotel was Valet. Polite and had my car ready."

"The husband and I had a little staycation at Cascade on Saturday, January 6 and it was quite enjoyable. Parking garage available on site, however not included in hotel pricing, additional $24. We were greeted right when we walked in by the front desk, which has not been our experience at a few other local hotels, so this was a bonus. Beautiful bar, with a very knowledgeable and pleasant bartender. Espresso martini was on point and so smooth! The hotel was very well lit and had a pleasant smell. Room had a nice layout, perfect for two people and a short stay. Ice and water refill station in the hall was higher tech and right next to the elevators. There is a hotel gym that we did not have time to visit, but no pool. However, there is a spa coming soon. Coffee shop in lobby. Location is prime and easy to walk to multiple restaurants or shopping. Four minute walk for us to go to our dinner reservations at Coopers Hawk. Definitely recommend, if you are looking for a clean, more affordable hotel experience on the Plaza."

"What a phenomenal hotel and KC is lucky to have it on the plaza! All the rooms have floor too ceiling windows and it is quite luxurious. The staff were extremely knowledgeable, helpful and kind. (Even when having to deal with a very rude guest, I might add!) I wouldn’t hesitate to stay here in the future!"

"They whiffed big time on the rooms - at least the suites. But, the rest of the hotel is great and the staff are all very nice. I'm giving it 5 stars because, even though the rooms could have been designed better, it's the newest nicest hotel in KC and it's all relative. As far as the suite goes, it's very spacious and nice. And great 180 degree views of the plaza. However, the functionality is the main issue. See the photos... -With all of the space and given it's a suite 1) How is there not a double vanity in the bathroom? 2) There's not a desk. Technically the area under the TV in the bedroom works, but that's not how a suite should be designed 3) The shower is something you would expect from a normal room, not a suite. -There is a bar in the suite, but no drinks or food for purchase. Not even water. -Also in the bar area is a small table with a dim light overhead. No use for this at all. -Tiny side tables next to the bed. Just enough room to charge a phone and have a bottle of water. -Unrelated to the room itself, the snack shop next to the lobby is very limited and half of it is significantly overpriced specialty items. At least just have a solid selection of snacks. I'll probably be back but it's unfortunate that the vast space in the suite and the great views are combined with very unusual and limited functionality. Some of these things can be changed at a reasonable cost. Let's see what they do."
