"We went to the Majestic for Super club. Sat at the bar for cocktails while we waited for our table. Our reservation ran late because we had to wait for the previous customers to finish. Wasn’t bad maybe 15-20 min. Got to sit downstairs and listen to the jazz band play while we ate. If you have the opportunity sit downstairs. We had multiple appetizers. My favorite was the wild mushrooms. Then everyone tried different entrees. I had the petite filet. Which by the time you eat everything else was more than enough food. Had leftovers. Recommend splitting meals. There wasn’t anything we tried that didn’t taste yummy. The majestic is a really old building and establishment. Noticed a leak in the ceiling when we were downstairs. Wasn’t anything crazy but feel like it should be fixed before opening for dinner. Honestly, those are little things. It is a Kansas City staple. I recommend that you go and enjoy."

"Went here for the Jazz..which was phenomenal..sat downstairs..service was fantastic..food was not so much or at least not even close to what I was expecting. Bone in filet was over cooked..char taste which is great..everything else..vastly average. Cheese plate was lights out..strongly suggest it. Everything else was just not as great as I would have thought..can't really put my finger on why..just not that great. Had it not been for the jazz and waitress..would of left a 3 star."

"We ordered two 10 oz. Rib Eyes cooked medium rare. It was average in taste, and one needed a serated knife. Not as tender or as flavorful as I was expecting from a place reputed to have the best. Waitress was doing her job, but did not go out of her way; it was production, get it done. I am disappointed to report the food was average, but the jazz musicians were great."

"What an amazing place for an anniversary or a birthday - or just because you want a treat! Service was first rate from entry to exit. The service staff fawns over you. The cooks produce their masterpieces with perfection, the bar is second to none on their mixology and pours and the entertainment sets the mood for a total experience. I had the 32 day aged prime rib with lobster mac-n-cheese (expensive but totally worth it!) and my partner had the lamb chops. Both cuts of meat melted like butter from knife to mouth. The drinks were first rate and strong. I tried the "old fashioned" and my partner had the "paper clip" and "jasmine". We really had a hard decision on refills because we had to drive home. Try the steak soup as an appetizer, you wont be disappointed. Same goes for their cheese cake. Loved the "speakeasy" feel of the place....rich in history. I'll becoming back as often as scheduled allows."
