"My husband & I recently moved to the area & had a long day. We didn't finish moving until about 8pm and we're so hungry. The only place we know in the area that's open late is 'tacos el guero' so we headed over there. By chance, we came across El Chaparros a few doors down and they were still open! It looks to be a small, family run business. Very nice people and the food was INCREDIBLE! My husbandis VERY picky and he loved it. Went back today for lunch and still so so good."
"El Chaparro's is a must stop if you are in Kansas City's Historic North District. I'm ashamed to say that I haven't spent too much time in this part of town and after driving around today I will definitely be returning. El Chaparro is what a neighborhood Mexican restaurant should be. You walk in, order, and then wait for some amazing food to be brought to the table. The dining area and kitchen are really only separated by a layer of glass and a wall of menus that covers most of it. I had the carne asada and lengue tacos. The kiddo had some sort of burrito and the wife had the carne asada platter. All were amazing. We will definitely be returning next time we are in the KCMO area. The great news is that there are plenty of small restaurants in this part of town to try so you really can't miss."
