"I came through in a hurry (short layover) and got a sandwich to go. Staff were very speedy and packed my food carefully. Little did I know that I was about to experience the most perfect pulled pork sandwich of my life. Every bite was a joy. The brioche bun was pillowy, the pork was tender and subtly smoky with crispy bits, the coleslaw was subtle and crunchy, and the sauce was exquisitely complex - tangy and apple cidery and sweet with just a little heat. Somehow the sauce tasted like all the best parts of growing up in Kentucky? And it had fried pickles on it."

"Meat Mitch, situated within the bustling Kansas City Airport, unfortunately left much to be desired during my recent visit. The primary issue was the temperature of the food; both the brisket and burnt ends, which could have potentially been delightful, were served cold. After sending these dishes back, hoping for a warmer rendition, they disappointingly returned in the same lukewarm state. While the flavor was passable, the overall experience was severely dampened by the food's temperature. Compounding the culinary letdown was the palpable atmosphere of understaffing. The servers openly expressed their frustration, frequently lamenting about being overworked and expressing a sense of being "so over it." This not only created an uncomfortable dining environment but also suggested a deeper issue with the management's handling of staff needs and customer satisfaction. In a venue where travelers seek comfort and a taste of Kansas City's renowned BBQ culture, Meat Mitch falls short of expectations, leaving both the palate and the heart a bit colder."

"Interesting place for BBQ, but again it's KC so BBQ everywhere. Who would have thought that tucked in a corner one would find good BBQ and for me a really good Smash Burger. Service was quick and attentive, food was good and hot and sauces were plentyful...try Mitch's Hot BBQ sauce, you'll thank me later. I'll be back when I'm in the KCI airport..."

"I didn’t have time to try the famous KC BBQs this time around but was pleasantly surprised to see a spot inside of the airport. Since we had some time before take off-we decided to dine in. Big mistake-the service was so slow. It wasn’t busy, there were also three servers. We didn’t get our food until at least 30 mins after we ordered-so I had to pack the bbq TO GO. Several other customers inhaled or packed their food to go as well. Before packing my food I was able to try some sauces and bought some to take back home. I really enjoyed the WHOMP sauce. I did like that they had at least 6 of their sauces out for customers to try."
