"I took the basic handgun/consealed carry class with Rogue Protection Group with Dustin. This class is very informative and sets you up with a great foundation for shooting. "Last week and this week, I attended the unarmed and armed DPSST courses with Kelly. I have been carrying a gun professionally for the last 17 years, through military, armed security, into law enforcement and now back to armed security. I have been to numerous trainings and academies, including the same course that Kelly taught but with other companies. Kelly's classes were hands down the best training I've had. Not only is Kelly easy going, he also treats everyone like adults. Even if you have never held a gun in your life, he doesn't treat you that way. I've had other instructors talk to me like I'm 5, even when I have more practical application experience than they do. Kelly knows his stuff, and he is very good at articulating it to his students. One of my biggest takeaways from this was the "why" around a lot of what we do. He didn't just mindlessly regurgitate information that he read in a book or some instructor regurgitated to him. He was good at asking those thought-provoking questions, and when you answer wrong, he doesn't dog you for it. He gives you the scientific facts as to why the answer you gave isn't correct. Again, not boastful or full of bravado, he is down to earth, intelligent and humble. I could write an essay on how much I got out of this, but I'll end with saying that Kelly isn't your typical check the box kind of instructor, he cares about what he's doing and who he is teaching and it shows. I will be attending more classes and continuing my education, and RPG is where I'll be going."
