"We trusted Amie Hunter and Umpqua Insurance agency with our insurance needs for first ten years of business. Come to find out we misplaced that trust. Never once in the ten years have we had any kind of claim. After 7 years we were canceled by the first carrier as we started to take on water mitigation projects. After canceling us, they audited us for the first time in the seven years. The audit resulted in us owing an additional $4000 in premiums for insurance we never used. Umpqua moved us to another company which cost double what the first did. Never had we shopped other insurance agencies as we assumed Umpqua had our best interest in mind. We had an agent from another broker look over our policy and found not only were we paying way too much, we didn't even have the correct coverage we needed as well has having coverage we didn't need. When I inquired to Amie about it she claimed she didn't have time to shop rates. Once I told her that we were leaving Umpqua for a new agency, she replied with, "well expect to be audited by your previous provider." We are now being audited for $10000 by the most recent company. The quote she gave us was over double what our new rate that has even more comprehensive coverage is. We saved almost $12000 annually by leaving Umpqua Insurance to a new policy that is non-auditable. If you use or are considering using Umpqua Insurance I highly recommend checking other places first."
