"In early 2020, my young child and I were driving home to Washington State when, just south of Roseburg, Oregon, my 2011 Subaru Outback began overheating, and every light on my dash came on. Of course it was the weekend. We were stranded. The next day, with little to do, we attended the Unitarian Universalist church in Roseburg. During a simple lunch after the service, someone highly recommended H.I.S. Automotive Services to me. I took my car there first thing Monday morning. Their shop was nothing fancy in appearance, but the owners immediately impressed me with their customer service, vast automotive knowledge, and genuine kindness. My child still has the little flashlight that they gave him. Everyone at H.I.S. was very kind to us. More importantly, they performed excellent work on my car. They were thorough and efficient and communicated well during the process of diagnosing multiple problems. Extremely honest. Mindful of my financial situation, they took things step by step, offering their expertise and letting me decide how to proceed. They were apologetic when the easier repairs didn't fully resolve the problem, and additional work was advisable. It soon became apparent that necessary repairs included sending a part out to a machine shop, and my car would be at H.I.S. for several days. The shop owner gave us a ride to the Airbnb where we were staying, and later even drove us to the Greyhound stop with some of the stuff from our car. We took Greyhound home, and I returned a week later for my car. The total cost was a pleasant surprise. It was very reasonable. The cost would have been more than double here in Washington. I wish we lived closer to Roseburg so I could always bring my car to H.I.S. My local mechanic is not nearly as knowledgeable, kind, or reasonably priced. However, the real reason I am posting this review is because three weeks ago, my car was at my mechanic here in Washington, and they were pressuring me to have my timing belt changed. It came to my mind that H.I.S. may have already changed it. I called H.I.S. They immediately looked up my single visit of almost four years ago, confirmed they had replaced my timing belt, and provided the date. I then asked and they gave me a review of all the repairs they had performed then and took the time to answer my questions. Four years ago and again this month, the people at H.I.S. went above and beyond for me. It is extra impressive because I don't even live locally. I will always be very grateful to the owners of H.I.S. for their excellent service when we were stranded in Roseburg. It was stressful taking my car to an unknown mechanic in an unfamiliar city because you never know... but they quickly put me at ease. H.I.S. was great. Becoming stranded in Roseburg turned out to be a wonderful experience. Do not hesitate to take your vehicle to H.I.S. If it is time for your vehicle to be serviced or if it needs a repair, call H.I.S. Automotive Services. If something is terribly wrong with your vehicle and you have no idea what it could be, definitely take it to H.I.S. You will be glad you did."

They got me in immediately on my way home, fixed my car before closing time even when they had to get a part for it, were so kind and gracious to me and my baby daughter and I feel like the rate they charged me was more than fair, but generous. I have never had an experience like this in an auto repair place and will go to them for everything now. They are wonderful and value their customers as human beings. They also did exemplary work on my vehicle. I can't think of one drawback to going here.
