"My cat Pixel has been receiving diabetes care regularly in the specialty department (internal medicine - Dr. Davis) for 2+ years. A great experience every time. The staff is kind and responsive. Lab results and appointment notes are sent to Pixel's regular vet in a timely manner. Fortunately we had never had to come here for an emergency - until a few days ago when his breathing became extremely labored. I brought him in at 3am and Pixel was triaged right away. No one else was in the lobby when I came in and I'm not sure how many patients were already beeping cared for, but I feel like the wait times and frequency of updates were really good considering every animal there needs urgent care. Long story short, my cat was there for about 36 hours - I received regular updates, every doctor I spoke with was fantastic, and Pixel's regular vet was consulted in creating a care plan. I can't comment on the cost of care since I have pet insurance but considering how much care he received from multiple doctors and other staff, I'd say it's quite fair. A huge thank you to everyone at Dove who has made it possible for me to have more time with my boy."

"If we could give more than 5 stars, we would. We had to take our dog into Dove Lewis Hospital in NW Portland for emergency surgery during a severe weather event in the city. We received quick and compassionate care from all the support staff, physician assistants, nurses and both doctors. Communication was excellent. We even received an update and picture of our girl when we had to leave her overnight because we couldn't get back to her due to our neighborhood being iced in. All costs on the care and surgery were explained in detail and we found them to be quite reasonable. We would not hesitate to take our pup there again and will recommend them to all our family and friends with pets. Thank you so much, Dove Lewis. I had always heard that Dove Lewis was a fantastic place but if you live in Vancouver, you know that going to Portland for anything is not a pleasant drive. We had no choice, in order to care of our little girl, we made an urgent care appointment and we are so thankful we did. The staff were the most compassionate and caring people we could hope to meet. We had the utmost confidence that our girl would be well cared for. Everything turned out okay, we were sent home with antibiotics and easy to understand instructions.
