"Wish it had a heavy bag, but overall it's a great gym!"

"Lowering to 3 stars due to random closures of pool/spa and now charging all students for towels as of August 14... Why suddenly start charging for towels in the middle of an academic term. Would have made more since to start at the start of a term. Already having to pay the rec center fee for a 2 week summer course is annoying enough. This is more of a problem with the management/school... The staff who work here are awesome and there are a lot of fun free classes you can join."

"The summer hours are inconvenient and the charge for current students (that aren't taking summer courses) is ridiculous. There is only one gender neutral shower and the wait time for it is always too long. The facilities are okay but the machines and (all) showers are outdated. The equipment doesn't seem to be cleaned on a regular basis. Every student pays the rec center fee for every term they are enrolled."

"I have been going to the Rec Center for about two years now and it is a fantastic option for students and the PSU community. The cardio floor and occupational fitness areas are fantastic and the climbing center is a great option for winter fitness options. The staff is friendly and the facilities are adequately clean so UI would highly recommend that everyone used the Rec in some capacity."

"Cons: (leading with these since they are less obvious) - the Gym is run on the school schedule and will often close for over a week during holiday breaks. They will not notify you of this prior to your membership renewal, so as an Alumnus you may pay for a month and only really get 3 weeks a few times per year. Other cons are generally poor communication when it comes to things like pool closures or class cancellations. Pros: It's a great value for what you get in terms of amenities and it's centrally located. The facility is clean and well cared for, and there's a huge swimming pool and a large amount of classes to choose from."
