"I took the beginner ASA 101 sailing course last year and joined the club. The class was great and left me with more confidence than I expected. I’ve been returning regularly to sail the club boats and it’s always a good experience. I highly recommend this place!"

"A group of us just took the 101 sailing class together and we had a great time. Very friendly, accessible, knowledgeable staff and instructors. The club membership is also really easy to navigate and we are looking forward to sailing more with these folks!"

"I have been sailing and teaching sailing since my first job at 14. Never have I found a club that is so highly regarded by new members, which I find to be the most important and defining aspect of any organization and its management. In the 5 years my boat was berthed next to Island Sailing I have had countless (15+) friends, colleagues, neighbors, who I had never discussed sailing with before, rave about learning to sail at Island Sailing. I have always enjoyed owning, racing, and working on my own sailboats, however I just sold my boat to join Island Sailing. The club boats are in top shape, the staff is incredibly communicative (they moved a boat just a few slips over and called me before my reservation time to let me know), and it is very reasonably priced. Owning a boat doesn’t make financial sense compared to a club membership (even though I do all my own work on my boats, and keep them on a trailer in the winter). I’ve helped many friends get their first boat, now I just recommend joining Island Sailing. Thank you to all the workers, and Stephen, at Island Sailing for making this a fun and welcoming place."

"I’ve had an overwhelmingly positive experience with Island Sailing Club. I’d wanted to learn to sail for years, but felt daunted by the learning curve. I had never sailed. I didn’t have a boat, or even a truck to haul a boat. I didn’t have anyone else in my life that sailed. I’m a middle aged mom- not exactly a shoe-in to the sailing lifestyle. The owner, Stephen, has created something really special- a culture where an absolute beginner like me can walk onto the dock to find a fleet of immaculately maintained boats, great teachers, a community of sailors, lots of support and encouragement, and just…sail. I took the ASA 101 Sailing course with Mark- a 3 day beginners course. He was an excellent teacher- astute, experienced, and patient. I’ve since joined the sailing club- which comes with a wide range of boats with a convenient app for scheduling, and an online forum in which to meet other sailing buddies. Within the span of 3 months I went from never having sailed before to taking my family out and teaching my boy sailors knots. Island Sailing Club makes sailing accessible, attainable, downright fun, and always safe. I can’t wait to keep up with it and learn for years."

"I love the club. They're seeing more traffic and running a lot of beginner classes right now, but they've hired more helpers, and Stephen is doing a great job so far after having bought the club late last year, including new motors and sails on the Catalina Capri 22's. They're also taking lots of reasonable SARS-COV-2 precautions, which helps me feel more comfortable coming out. Looking forward to more years in the club! I highly recommend the club."
