"Awesome place tucked away in the backcountry. This has been our go to spot for date nights and family dinners. Food: The menu is not huge but the options on it are all fantastic from the burgers to the steaks, salads and appetizers. They also run dinner specials pretty often which also hit the spot. (We had the spaghetti and meatballs special tonight) yum! They use quality ingredients which make the meals amazing in addition to that, most of the food is made in house such as their home made crème brûlée. We have yet to be disappointed with any menu items. Definitely recommend! Service: Aaron is awesome! He is always attentive, gets the orders right, asks how the meals are to make sure you’re happy with the order. We’ve been there so frequently at this point he knows exactly what we want and has our drinks out before we say anything. It’s great! Aaron has also gone out of his way to help us jump start our car and find us the right tools to get it done after the restaurant had closed…. in freezing weather. The rest of the service staff have also been great, but our usual time to go there is evenings when Aaron works. The Chef has also been great and will come out and speak to guest and get feedback back as to how the meals have been so that’s also a plus having the ability to give feedback on the food. Atmosphere: It’s cabin themed and very cozy with live fire places burning, a full bar, old time photos of the mountain and history hung around to view,and tables with rustic furniture just makes for a very calm, quiet, and relaxing setting to enjoy regardless of the visit, family dinner or date night. "I have lived at the foot of Mount Hood for thirty years and in that time visited the Cooper Spur restaurant a few times. The food was always mediocre or lousy so it was never a place on our go-to list for a night out despite its close proximity to our home. I am so happy that this iconic location in the forest has been renovated and that the restaurant is now a place to get a wonderful meal! Going into Hood River for dinner out is not easy for us locals with the influx of tourists making it difficult to get a table at the good restaurants. Now we have a delicious destination in the upper valley! Our first visit back since the renovation was very pleasant. The restaurant was not too busy for us and the service was good and friendly. What I’m really excited about is the quality of the food- it’s what we wish every restaurant could have- food that is sourced from the people in our own valley. I had the garden salad and I actually know the farmers that grew the lettuce and tomatoes. The piece of grilled wild salmon with the salad was caught by a local fisherman. We had the “Fig and Pig Flatbread” as an appetizer and my husband had a delicious beef and rice bowl for his entree. My French onion soup was delicious and obviously handmade. The meal was gilded with a decadent warm brownie sundae with house-made gelato. They have a full bar and the best selection of non-alcoholic beverages that I have ever seen at any restaurant. Yes, this is a pricier meal than average but it’s because of the value of locally grown food from farmers and ranchers we know, prepared with skill and flare. It is going to cost more than a bucket of something off the Sysco truck. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from the intriguing menu."

"The deep fried Buffalo cauliflower was awesome. The sweet potato souffle with candied pecans was wonderful. Wish the brussel had been cooked a bit more. The brownie sundae was fantastic, so fudge. Great atmosphere."

"Everything was delicious. Outdoor space was lovely. Rosemary fries were so good. We ordered all three desserts and they were all so delicious. They had a seasonal passion fruit sorbet which was probably the best we’ve had. Chicken sandwich was so good but the bun could use a touch less toasting as it was super crumbly."
