"Working with Birsen during my condo's preparation for rental has been a very positive experience. Her communication style is clear, direct, and efficient while infused with support and warmth. This was a new, and somewhat intimidating, experience for me and she was an excellent partner in navigating through all the facets of my role in the process while providing excellent management services. Thank you, Birsen. Update: Unfortunately, I have to revise my review - I will still leave 2 stars for our initial interaction and those while excellent tenants were occupying my condo, however: after 1 year and 2 months (with all but one month of those resulting in occupancy) we had a experience with a tenant who created some neighbor disturbances and then did not leave the condo in a rentable condition. When this occurred our working relationship, unfortunately, deteriorated. A review of our emails/texts shows that I was required to, repeatedly, defend all of my reports of nontypical use; I felt we were in an adversarial situation while arranging to return my condo to a rentable condition. Additionally, my requests for an onsite walkthrough with AMSI staff in order to problem-solve related issues were ignored, as was my attempt to use the dispute resolution system that is identified in the contract. This has been a 0-star experience that I would never wish to repeat."

"This is a review for the company due to one specific employee, Birsen Larson. At first, Birsen managed our San Diego condo fairly well, although she came across as a bit brusk, but things really fell apart in the past year. She told a tenant he could smoke on our patio in our STRICTLY non-smoking unit. He moved out after 3 days when he was meant to stay 6 months. She still will not take responsibility for this regardless of being furnished with the HOA house rules. Even worse, she brought up "our" non-smoking policy in EVERY short, terse email she sent us as if it continued to be our fault. Then she started to blame "our neighborhood" for the problem renting it out, and we have a PRIME location in Normal Heights. She continued to tell us we would have a group coming soon, that went on for forever, and then she said she had no one due to the "neighborhood." Clearly she doesn't understand San Diego. She continued to mislead us. Then there was the issue of her communication skills. They are TERRIBLE. Doesn't return phone calls, short terse unhelpful emails, never truly understood our concerns. She said she was out of the country, but this was before and after she was out of the country. She kept talking about the low season and difficulty renting, but it was her fault we lost our 6 months renter. We always understood that San Diego has a low season, but she ended up yelling me on the phone over this, saying, "I'M NOT A MIRACLE WORKER EMILY!!!" Then she refused to disclose the name of the CEO/CFO and tried to hang up on us. We had to look up that info ourselves. Avoid her at all costs. She cares nothing of owners and HOA rights."

"It is ironic to me that many of the reviews talk about positive communication, but we found the opposite to be true. As property owners, I lost months of rent due to poor communication from both the property manager to tenants, and to us as well. She failed to disclose rules clearly stated in our HOA to tenants who had agreed to rent for a long term rental, which prompted them to move out, leaving us in the lurch. Perhaps other branches of the company are better than the San Diego branch, but I cannot recommend this branch."

"Birsen Larson and AMSI have been a godsend for my household. My wife and I loved our San Diego condo but had to move out of state due to job opportunities in 2020. The move was somewhat unexpected and we were constantly running the numbers trying to figure out how to keep our little slice of heaven, but we just could not get the numbers to work… Luckily, about 2 days before we were going to put the house on the market, we were serendipitously introduced to Birsen by a condo neighbor who had been in contact with Birsen for some time and had been planning and awaiting the day he could use her services. We nervously decided to give it a shot too and WOW, we could not be happier with the results! Not only did AMSI negotiate, what we feel, to be an extremely fair rate for our unit, but Birsen has handled the management side of things nothing short of beautifully. Apart from a few minor occurrences, such as guiding the very first tenants on where items and switches can be found, the property seems to manage itself! Of course we know that is not the case and that Birsen’s hard work and efforts only make it feel that way. I would recommend AMSI to ANYONE looking for these services! In fact, I have referred individuals in multiple cities and states to Birsen and AMSI since going on contract with them and plan to refer more in the future. You won’t regret it! Thank you, Birsen! "I didn’t know what to expect when I contacted AMSI. This was my first introduction into corporate furnished housing. Fortunately, Birsen Larson answered my call. Birsen went over the details and what was necessary to list my property with AMSI. A list was provide of furnishings required. I was overwhelmed as my experience searching and ordering items on line was minimal. She quickly came to my rescue and forwarded suggestions , within my budget, of items to order on Amazon. This made it so easy. I used my son’s Amazon prime account, items arrived within days. Timing was everything as I live in Los Angeles and the condo is in San Diego. We hit a few bumps along the way, Birsen was patient, supportive and quick to resolve issues. Rental payments have always been timely. All tenant’s concerns are taken care of by Birsen. This has been a stress free transition into furnished housing. I am very happy to have Birsen and AMSI manage my property! It has been a joy to work with Birsen, she is professional. patient and friendly. She contacts me regularly to keep in touch!"
