Camden Village Apartments

"BE CAREFUL! On January 26, 2024 I visited the site in hopes to rent an apartment. I wasn’t 100 percent sure if that was my place, however, because I was trying to find a place as soon a possible I did paid $500 for my deposit. The very next day after I paid for my deposit I found another place that I liked and immediately cancelled with Camden Village. Well, I never got my deposit back. Even though they told me I had 48 hours to cancel in case I changed my mind. That was a scam!!! I am really glad that I didn’t rent there and I hope I can help someone not to fall for this SCAM. The manager Linda, is completely irresponsible and doesn’t care. I will do all I can the make you future resident to be aware of this place. Reply to your answer/update This reply to my review is far from the truth! Management told me, it can take UP to 21 business days to get my refund. Here we are, over 25 business days and all the answer I get is “your check is in the mail, you will get it next week.” I’m still waiting and NO check. Despite many calls I made in an attempt to get any explanation, the manager, Linda, never called me back, or at least to acknowledge my frustration. The only person who show me some kindness when I called, is Jacqueline, the office secretary. I understand there is a process, I am not trying to bypass the system. My frustration is, I follow all your requirements, you told me 21 days business , it has been way over 21 business days and I still have no check. If I didn’t have the deposit on time you wouldn’t let me rent, so why do I have to keep waiting to get my money back? I wanna know when you will return my money. Until then, what you are doing is a SCAM! You are keeping money that is NOT yours to keep. For those out there who are considering to rent an apartment at Camden Village, please be aware…There is some shady things going on there."

"Linda the woman manager is unprofessional and rude they do not want to help. They are lazy and do not care - sorry to say pathetic. I lived here for 10 years and planned to move back to Camden however the management changed. They could care less about new tenants. This place needs new management for their great facilities! They did not treat me like a human only as a piece of business. No manners! It was amazing before current management. Steps to improve: Have feedback for your management try to see that you can greatly improve. Treat people less as business units. I was very disappointed after my 10 year stay with great management. Also the building color is vomit green. Update - I don't trust your review below this is very characteristic of your staff. Please get it together. I see your management still has not changed. Acting on feedback seems non existent to you. Having laundry for each unit would help after you learn what being human means. I contacted however I was ignored. Everything you say below is NOTHING but FLUFF."

"These apartments are nasty and old and the management is horrible. My time staying was cool at first but the roaches started to come, leaks were coming from my ceiling, oven and dishwasher stopped working. Like this place is literally falling apart. There are a bunch of homeless people as well and people who've done drugs or are on drugs staying here. It's not safe for the kids. I honestly wouldn't recommend these apartments. Don't get fooled by what you see in the pictures"

"Sucks that we have to leave a bad review. I was in the area looking for a new apartment for an upcoming move for my new job. A quick Google search and the pictures of the pool got me excited to see if we can check out the place! We walked in and I asked if they do walk ins, was told yes and to hang out as front desk was a bit busy. We told her totally understandable, she took our ID's and we waited. A few more "thank you for waiting it will be a bit longer" turned into 20 minutes, again totally fine as we are a walk in. Suddenly, I'm assuming who is the manager, came out of the back room(first time she showed her face or interacted with us??) and very rudely told us we would not be seeing an apartment today. We quickly gathered our ID's and left as the situation was turning hostile. If you are not available for a walk in that's fine, please just say so and we would have left no questions asked. I can't speak on the quality of the apartments as we didn't get a chance to see them. But the behavior from the manager was appalling."
