"We moved just this week and would definitely rate the experience excellent so far. First Anna at the front office helped us with everything to make the lease signing and entire move in experience extremely smooth. We were all set in a day! She followed all our requests very efficiently even when she was remote on Thursday. Next we should Thank Celestino, taking care of all the maintenance work. I had read good reviews about him and the experience exceeded all the expectations. He is also very polite and friendly and eager to resolve issues. Thank you 'Team Chesapeake point' !"

"With regards to maintenance here, Celestino was very helpful the other day in identifying the issue with my toilet and replacing the fill valve. He was open, honest, and quick to fix it. Very friendly guy as well."

"Mr. Marteja has been helping my family at 1740 A Marina Court many times. And we really appreciated his work ethics and conscientiousness to take good care of the tenants. that we also, heard praise of his work from other tenants he served. He did an excellent work, and followed through with the following work to complete the job. Again, just as of tonight we called the ER phone, in 5 minutes Mr. Marteja showed up, and fixed the leaking water all over the kitchen floor from the washer and he also, cleaned up all the mass that he really didn’t need to do, also, got his clothes full of the loose cotton from the washer. Mr. Marteja is very kind, and helpful. and He is alway happy like warm sunshine. Your company are very lucky to have such a valuable worker in your team. Again, thank you so much for his work in all."

"Fair riverside view apartment, but please prepare to 1) have NO security deposit back (They will even charge you for cleaning carpets that don't even exist!) and 2) endure all the issues like bugs, noise, and trash collection during your stay. There are lots of more comfortable and spacious apartments around the neighborhood with similar or lower prices. I was deceived by the riverfront scenery and the relatively high Google review when we moved in from the East Coast, but you can do better by shopping around before making the decision. Here is my story with Chesapeake Point for your reference. I, like many people who moved to the Bay area for the first time, was in a rush to find an apartment. I listed several apartments around the office area with good Google reviews and attempted to finalize them within a weekend. Chesapeake stood out because of its nice riverfront view and relatively low price. However, on the first day, I moved in, I found that the paint, molding, and finishes throughout the house were shoddily done. Dead bugs littered over the fluorescent lights. Spiders and silverfish were infested both inside and outside the house, and naturally, spider webs were everywhere. Having moved from another state, I naively believed the manager's dismissive explanation that California naturally had a lot of spiders, but after relocating to a different apartment nearby, we realized it depended on the apartment management. And the communal garbage bin at the center of the complex wasn't properly maintained, causing trash to overflow. Trash scattered by the wind was a common sight on certain days. We had no way of knowing about the need to be cautious of goose droppings around the premises when signing the lease. The sound insulation of the apartment is also practically non-existent. On days with heavy rain, noises from the neighboring unit sounded like rain was piercing through the ceiling. I tolerated all of this as the price for my choice, but my patience reached its limit with a 7% rent increase at renewal, which is about $100/month higher than the price shown on their website at that time! I thought my story with Chesapeake was over, but a bill that claimed over $550 cleaning fee really shocked me, after two weeks from my moving out. I cleaned the home thoroughly before moving out, which was even cleaner than the time I moved in considering the dead bugs inside the lights and dust on the door frame/skirting, etc on the day we moved. In their statement, it even included a "carpet replacement" fee, while there was NO carpet in our apartment since we moved in!!! I have communicated these ridiculous charges with Chesapeake Point and its owner Prometheus for more than a month . All I asked is to have a reasonable explanation of the unjust charges, but all I got were “should have an update for you soon”. I had believed Prometheus to be a trustworthy and professional apartment company, but I realized that's far from the truth. I found plenty of great riverfront homes around the neighborhood (east side of San Mateo and Foster City) and I am now in a new apartment (with bigger space and lower cost). If you happen to be captivated by the scenery, I hope you won't have to endure the same inconveniences I did."
