The Beach Cottages

"Hotel is a little older but the rooms were very clean. Housekeeping was attentive. The best thing ever was the location and view from the west side-2nd floor (I'm sure 3rd floor is great also). I look forward to staying here again because of the location to the beach!"

"My friend was staying at this motel on the third floor, a single room. The view of the ocean is spectacular. The room was small, but comfortable. There was a small desk with a small chair which was too low to sit on at the desk. One swivel, rattan chair only but very comfortable. Maybe a couple of folding chairs left in the closet would be helpful. It would be more practical to have a small table that folds out for dining and when friends visit for meals. It would be nice if they had an alarm clock in the room like most places. Also, a small litter basket by the bed is needed since there was none in the room, but a large basket was in the sink area. The towels were cheap, thin but clean. The little refrigerator was a good size but did not keep items cold enough. You couldn't adjust the temperature to make it cooler, and another couple stated they had the same problem in their single room. We met many returning customers who love the location. So many were arriving with their own coolers, and now we know why. They stated they wanted to keep their food and drinks cold so they knew to bring a cooler. Many wanted to use the lounge chairs to stretch out, but they were too uncomfortable without cushions, so no one used them. The location is excellent for walking a short distance to restaurants and stores. The cleaning staff were excellent, very friendly and helpful. The room was satisfactory for my friend because of the location and ease to shops, etc. With a little more effort, this place could be terrific."

"What a great find! I love that the hotel is older, it has character. The rooms are clean. Our kitchen had a smaller-sized dishwasher and a small regular refrigerator that had a little freezer. Amazing view, great housekeeping and really nice people in the registration area. We loved this place and will definitely come back."

"I have been staying at the Beach Cottages for a few years. Probably 5 stays since 2020? Great location! The staff is friendly and helpful and you can’t beat the access to the beach. Steps from the beach and right in the heart of the action in PB. The rooms are large and although it’s an older property it’s very clean! I also love that they have secure parking that doesn’t break the bank. I always stay for a week and enjoy a discount for that. I recommend the Cottages to friends and family every time I’m asked my go to spot on my annual visit to SD. Looking forward to another stay in a couple of weeks."

"Great location right on the beach. Was a little concerned about noise at first. Our room was right above the bar/restaurant downstairs. By 10pm, it was quiet! Other than a few late night partiers walking around. Left the balcony door open for a nice ocean breeze. Love ❤️"
