"I paid for a king suite and a Karen was ahead of me who didn't have a reservation and complained and they gave her my sweet and put me in a queen room.. It was tiny and horrible and noisy and when I said something about it they said they'd give me a night off, for free. They agreed to it with my booking company and then I paid an extra $58 for the fee and then they changed their minds. Decided not to do it and treated me like complete trash and I paid almost $400 a night for this suite and got a stupid tiny room. I honestly probably paid more than that because it had the hot tub in it and it was supposed to be huge and I went into a closet size room that barely had a queen bed in there. Also it's nothing amazing and it's not that clean."

"This is a cool retro hotel. It has a 'just stepped right out of the 1920's vibe.' The entry is spacious with plenty of seating and a grand piano. They also have a bar. Our room was spacious with an intimate feel to it. We will go back with pleasure"

"Stayed for a week. On day one my TV did not work. The desk clerk came up and fixed it after I reported the problem. I noticed a few ants on the bathroom floor but did not ask to change rooms after reporting because it’s an older hotel. Two nights later I woke up to ants crawling on my arms and chest. I had no food in my room except a leftover dessert in the refrigerator that i threw out after finding ants in the box with the dessert. I checked out of the hotel and was charged the last night because I violated their policy for early checkout. They do not have an insect Infestation early check out policy. The front desk clerk was rude and not helpful. No manager was on duty at 9 am. I was told she would call me but that did not happen. My traveling companion had ants in her room as well. Not as bad as mine but she was on the same floor a few doors down from mine. Breakfast is very mediocre. The grounds are decorated for Christmas so it looks festive but overall the hotel looks very run down. We were warned not to be out after dark in the area because of the crime. On the plus side the place had plenty of vacancies, I only saw three or four people all week. Would suggest staying in Arcata near the airport or south of Eureka. Avoid this place."

"Nope. Biggest issue: the mold and cleanliness. Biggest perk: the hotel is cute and during Christmas time even more so. The hotel is older and on the coast so I know the mildew smell is just part of it. What I didn’t expect was so much black mold that I would leave 5x more sick than I was when I arrived. I saw black mold all over the window frames in our room - every window. If they can’t even bother to wipe that off, imagine how much is in the vents and walls? My toddler also found a rotten apple core right under the bed skirt. Hotel staff was 3/5 stars friendly, couldn’t be bothered with much. I think for the aesthetics alone, it’s probably one of the better places to stay in Eureka, but at a cost. The entire 24 hours after leaving I was having a mold illness reaction in severity I haven’t ever had before. I could not have stayed more than one night."

"My now husband and I stayed here for the night of our wedding. We had an elopement in the forest and I was looking for something in budget but unique to stay in. The Eureka inn was the perfect place to pick. The whole atmosphere and architecture is astonishing. There's detail in every corner. The rooms are simple but felt so luxurious (I'm a simple person) for it being an older place it didn't have an oldish smell. It smelled clean, but not sterile. The whole place was impressively clean. The staff were very polite and accommodating. Definitely worth the stay or even just to pop in and check out their lounge or diner"
