"Southern Medical Group came recommended to me by a hospitalist because of their reputation for thorough work-ups. Despite my confusing case, Dr. Bernard has lived up to that reputation. A less dedicated doctor might have given up on me before now. He listens well, takes as much time as it takes (on my first [sick] visit, I probably saw him over an hour), and casts a wide net. He's also easy to get an appointment with. He's a great doctor! The staff at Southern Medical Group is awesome! Not one single time have they dropped the ball. You never have to ask for test results because they always mail them. (I love this!) My medical records have always gotten where they needed to go. (This was the first office I've been to that was willing to take copies of my X-rays, CT scans, and MRIs - a good sign!) A nurse always gets back to me when I call. When something doesn't seem right (e.g. an ambiguous lab order or when a hospital imaging department and health insurance provider disagree on whether prior authorization has been granted), they get to the bottom of it. They learn your name pretty quick too! My wife and my mom naturally would prefer a female doctor. They like what they've seen at Southern Medical Group (while attending my appointments) - possibly enough to switch to Southern Medical Group in spite of their preference. Just a heads up! Oh, and one of the reviews made mention of Bible verses being posted in locations that patients can see easily. While that is true, no one is forcing the patient to read, listen to, or apply them. It took me a few visits before I even noticed them. Regardless, I specifically DO want a doctor that can understand my religiously-driven conviction when I answer, "No, I do not have any girlfriends on the side." That one (1) star review became a five (5) star review in my eyes."
