"Do not purchase any type of ammo from this store. They do not have any knowledge on the correct ammo for the gun you have, I have been sold incorrect ammo twice because of their workers. I don’t know which kind I need, so I always get “experts” opinion . The first time I was sold the wrong ammo my gun started smoking at the gun range and I didn’t know why until they told me . They gave me a coupon for me to purchase more and the same thing happened again. The smart mouth manager did not care at all and I will not be back ! I’ve wasted at least $60 with Ammo I can’t use"

"I recently visited Academy Sports to purchase a weight plate set with a bar, and I must say, my experience exceeded my expectations. Not only did I find the equipment I needed for a great deal, but I also encountered exceptional customer service. Upon arriving at the store, I realized I also needed an air pump for my basketball, as it was getting low on air. Unfortunately, the air pumps available didn't have the specific needle I required. However, an associate, whose name I regrettably didn't catch, went above and beyond to assist me. He promptly located the needle I needed and provided it to me at no extra charge.I was genuinely impressed by the associate's attentiveness and willingness to ensure I had everything I needed for my purchase. His gesture of going out of his way to find the needle exemplifies Academy Sports' commitment to customer satisfaction. Overall, my experience at Academy Sports was excellent, thanks to the helpful and courteous staff. I highly recommend Academy Sports to anyone in need of quality sports equipment and exceptional service."

"Service isn't good here. The employees are either too busy or cannot be found to answer questions in the store. I found out the hard way that there's a no return policy for crossbows. The manager didn't offer store credit or any other option to me. He tried to blame me by saying that there are signs in the store stating the policy for crossbow returns yet none of my family recalls seeing any signs when we spent nearly an hour looking at the bows and accessories. Even when I stated the safety issue with the product he didn't budge and told me to contact the manufacturer. Selection is decent but the prices are higher than other stores unless there's a sale. I wouldn't recommend this store."

"If you’re skin isn’t white be careful. I don’t think their employees have enough diversity training. Francisco that works in hunting denied me sales because he said I was slurring words and couldn’t stand straight. Yea I had a root canal 4 days ago but other then that I definitely wasn’t drunk at 1230pm on a Tuesday. It’s ridiculous how a regular employee can determine who’s drunk without any sobriety tests. No my first time ever being racially discriminated against. Oh course the I asked for Eric the manager and I know they are probably trained to back their employees but these 2 are ridiculous."
