"First I will say, the two men that came were clean cut, very polite and respectful. Used yes Ma'am and no sir. I fussed at them but explained it was not targeting toward them, and that I would be leaving a bad review. I've used Stanley steamer many times over at least the last 10 years. Have always been please with price vs quality of work. This time, they had an online quote option and scheduler. So i followed the prompts in order to get an accurate (or close) quote. To be fair I made a mistake on one area rug. I put in 7x7 when it was 8x10 and told them as soon as they got here. He said it was 27 more. No problem. But here's what made me super angry and they left without me being happy. My quote was 340.00. (1) 7x7 rug (1) 7x5 rug, 1 bedroom (covered by king size bed 2 dressers 2 nightstands and 2 chairs. And under the "Tile" section 1 bathroom. I checked the option for clean and seal. $340.00 When they got here they said unfortunately, this is STONE, not tile. So to do this job it will be $568!!!!!!! I was shocked!!!! What a scam! I could see give or take 30-50.00, BUT ALMOST DOUBLE???? I asked what is the point of the quote???? There was not a STONE OPTION????It said bathroom or kitchen TILE?? I told them to forget it. He removed the Protectant from the rugs, and got it down to 438. (Plus 39 tip) Close to 500.!!! They were so nice while they were here, so i let them do it. To add insult to injury, when they finished. I looked at my bath tile! It was this dull looking, ridiculously unfinished mess. That's when I asked, you got me to pay 200-something more to leave the floor like this???? I was really really concerned. He said the buff and shine is 150 extra. Please tell me I'm wrong here. Look back at the quantities in the quote above. Please note the online quote DOES NOT HAVE AND OPTION FOR STONE BECAUSE WHATS THE DIFFERENCE??? So I paid way extra for nothing! I attached photos of my bathroom. It's hard to capture the fullness of the gorgeous floor in pictures. I hope you can see. Now I have to hire ANOTHER company and pay more to fix it. Unacceptable. The images below are what I paid 500 for. Update: a lot has happened, lots of time stent talking to this one and that one. A Manager named Derek (came to my home) and the lady at the office Ciara (saw pictures) told us forget what their previous people told us, that THIS IS NOT STONE IT IS TILE. FACT! They said they would send their top tile guy out on Tuesday and make me whole again. Additionally they would refund us the difference between the up charge for Stone they charged. I agreed, I mean I didn't have much choice but to wait. But was excited to see my gorgeous floors sparkle. Fast forward to today Tuesday. I called to get an arrival time for my floor people to come. I spoke with Roy at the call center in Atlanta.He looked it up and apologized and said Mam I am sorry but your job for today was canceled and it says they are refunding your money. He said he didn't have anymore information for me. I had Dereks card, called him and he said WHAT, THEY CANCELLED YOU??? Called me back and said i have some guys coming after they finish their jobs. AGAIN TWO WELL DRESSED WELL MANNERED SHOWED UP. Not the top guy they were sending to save the day. He talked to us and said oh, yea this isn't stone or tile, this is a specialty Marble that is very difficult to work with. But we got it. My husband was furious. The floors are less dull but not finished. We will call in specialists to finish our floors."
