"I was hired at Zales right before Black Friday 2023. I was given an offer of $15.55 PLUS COMMISSIONS on sales and on the warranties/insurance. I was told that I would receive a base wage of $15.55 per hour PLUS commission pay on sales of jewelry and on sales of warranties. Ok cool. I loved the job and atmosphere working with jewelry and people all day. I sold over $10,000 worth of jewelry my first week. Well what also happened my first week is, Signet Jewelers who also owns Jared, Kay, banters and other jewelry stores besides Zales, signet emailed me stating they’re debating doing “adverse action”, basically going to fire me after hiring me because of something on my background from 10 years ago that I was upfront about in the interview. Fired me right before Black Friday with no remorse. On top of that when I got my check, it was short! I immediately emailed and was told I had to sale $275,000! worth of jewelry before receiving commission! I explained multiple times that that was never told to me before. I asked for the documents stating that. I asked for proof that I signed and agreed to that. I kept explaining that I agreed to $15.55 plus commissions. NOT $15.55 plus commissions AFTER I make you $275,000! I was fired because of my background but this company is the real criminals! They have a monopoly on diamonds which means they probably own all the diamond mines in Africa and around the world. Probably operate with slaves to fill all of their stores. I was cheated. I emailed over and over and was told that they closed the investigation. I didn’t sell $275,000 so I won’t be getting any commissions on my sales. So I’m leaving this bad review, going to BBB to leave a bad review and going to other agencies to leave bad reviews because it’s not right to treat me like a slave and cheat me out of my RIGHTFUL PAY!!! I was told a wage that included commission. No one ever said to me anything about having to sale $275,000 worth of jewelry. I accepted $15.55 per hour under the “offer” because I was told PLUS COMMISSIONS. And honestly I’m trying to keep my review about the store and not bring the store manager into it. But that’s who told me the offer. And I asked her while working about commissions and she never said “you have to sell $275,000 worth of jewelry before you make commissions.” Because she hired me and told me that I would be making commissions for all my sales including Black Friday which was days away. Overall I felt cheated and will never shop with Zales, Jared, Kay or any of signet jewelers again. And if they will cheat their employees, just imagine what they will do to the customers smh I was literally at home training on my own time when I was called and fired. I was skipping past all the negative videos and comments made about Zales and focusing on being an amazing jewelry consultant. So since they have no remorse, I just want to let as many people as possible know how they cheated and treated me. Very poorly. 4 months later and still haven’t received my rightful pay!!! It doesn’t matter if it’s $8 or $8000 when you work for something, you deserve your rightful pay. It’s not right to withhold rightful pay. It’s a super rich company. They could’ve paid me. So since they didn’t, I’ll pay them back in bad reviews… BBB next!!!"
