"I am sure that the instruction the provide is adequate, but their children's program throws many red flags. They refuse, even on a first visit, to allow a parent to watch them interact with the child, and give no reason for a parent to trust them. I am all for teaching kids to be self sufficient, but when we are talking about kids as young as 5, and they forbid a parent from watching the adults interact with the children, that is a red flag the size of a football field. Add to that, I get that names are not easy for everyone, but maybe avoid rudely referencing a child as "that one" when talking to the parents. Yes, he was not ready, I get it, but maybe try phrases like "your child" or some other nice method other than simply pointing and saying "that one". It particularly throws read flags when "that one" is the only child of color in the area, intentional or not. Just does not feel like a place anyone should feel comfortable sending young kids, considering they do not conduct themselves in a transparent way with the kids, especially the youngest kids. They need to create an atmosphere that allows parents to trust them, and build and foster that trust."
