"The HSI is the perfect place to experience everything your Mother warned you about. Labeling it "Shady Acres 2023" would be an understatement, but the rooms are alright, the location is very close to downtown Hannibal, Mo and the Management (Mike) seems to be very customer oriented. Don't let any bad reviews deter you from staying here, but don't expect a five star hotel stay either. Its a much better place to stay than the Motel 6 or the Baymont Inn in Hannibal"
"It was a place to rest our heads, but we were a little worried, sketchy neighborhood, sketchy people wandering around. Room wasn't filthy but really outdated with problem areas in the rooms. We spent a total of about 7 hours in our room and we packed up as fast as we could in the morning to get out of there."
"Easy on the wallet, pet friendly motel. The first room was a "No smoking" room; however, after taking a step inside, I felt I'll (I have allergies). I informed the staff & they gave me a different room. The room had a microwave & mini fridge, desk, side chair, king bed with 4 pillows, 2 night stands & window A/C which was nice & cold. The room was a few doors down from the roadway, main level, but was a very quiet room. The room was clean."
"Last minute place to crash for the night while on a road-trip. Staff was friendly and helpful. Close to downtown. Cheap. Not the cleanest place we’ve stayed in but for a place to sleep it was okay. The room had an odor but appeared to be clean enough. Someone was running a loud tool of some sort right outside our door after 10 pm. Some shady looking folks in the parking lot."
"I am a frequent guest here, and when I heard the property was under new ownership and the name had changed, I looked forward to seeing other improvements as well. I was impressed with the customer service and energy being put into the property. Seems like the new owners are working on making this motel affordable and accommodating. Thank you Update: the new owners are remodeling the rooms one by one. I'm impressed."
