"Tried giving this place a shot to be our new vet. Horrible first experience. Walked into an office that smelled like dog diarrhea. Nobody at the front desk to greet us for over 5 minutes. No note about them being away or in the back. Then we’re taken into an exam room and waited 25 minutes and nobody showed up so we walked out. Also, they’re paying for reviews with free nail trims, so be cautious of the positive reviews."

"This place is great! The staff is very knowledgeable and super friendly and welcoming. We went in for a second opinion for our pet’s dental disease, our tech Maharshi was very helpful and explained all that goes into a pet dental cleaning- start to finish! We also learned about wellness plans and being able to build our dental into to it- saves money up front! Definitely recommend Neighborhood Vet Center if you’re in the Bellaire area!"

"NVC Richmond was honestly the most pleasing Vet Clinic I’ve ever taken my fur-baby to! From the minute I called to inquire about some issues I was noticing with my puppy, I was greeted with friendliness and was able to schedule a same day appointment to have her checked out. Our technician Maharshi was very thorough in explaining what was going to be done during our visit, and about her treatment plan over the next couple days as well. Not only were they able to get our problem resolved quickly and at a very affordable price, but I was thrilled to learn that I can get grooming done here as well!! I will definitely be returning to this location and recommending NVC going forward!"

"While I appreciate the completion of the service, I was not happy about the discharge process. Fortunately I am a RN, but for humans. Some areas of improvement are: 1. Ensure the actual discharge document is reviewed with the owner. Meaning inform them of the document. Show it to them and go over the instructions. I didn’t even know I had instructions placed in my hand until 24 hours later, as the document was folded three times and placed in my hand obviously with the discharge medication. It was not shown to me. 2. Ensure the owner understands how to use any equipment or supplies for the animal, in this case, my dog. I had no understanding of how to use the e-collar other than it apparently velcro on/off. I was not aware of the opening that allows the dog to eat and drink until 24 hours later when I inspected the collar. 3. The tech did not go over what to expect. However the person at the desk gave us a quick run down. I only make this a point because we were told the vet tech would do this prior to taking him back. 4. I was not aware of the “Certificate of Neutering” being stapled to our itemized receipt until 24hours later when I was looking at the receipt. I must say some of this information was provided me when I called the Friday before inquiring. But there were critical parts that I was not aware of. Had the discharge process been conducted as it should have I would not have felt lost in some areas. The staff were friendly. No issues there. The many issues would have really been resolved had the instructions been reviewed with us. Kudos on the discharge medication."

"Incompetent Vet Clinic I've been taking my dog here since May but since he got increasingly more sick in October, we've been facing battle after battle to get him well. Three months of the vet prescribing him with medicine that either doesn't work at all or does not last long before he's sick again. The receptionist is daft at best. Providing incorrect information to me as I run from pharmacy to pharmacy for the medicine that is a class two drug, basically I would never have access to myself. The staff also does a bad job of keeping you up to to date with the status of your pet's plan. I've had to be on them everyday and call multiple times as they are suspect to not answer - even in business hours. The personal information I provided to this clinic was put in the system wrong and the ladies that work in the front keep laughing like their aloofness is funny. Not to mention the irrelevant procedures and medications that the vet provided before dragging her feet to ordering the x-ray that showed the severity of his bronchitis. More than anything : the fact that my dog is still sick and coughing too much to be seen by any groomer, I'm angry that his quality of life is diminished ! He already has cataracts and can barely see as it is. I'm angry that he still is not well after all this time. Choose another vet clinic if possible. Your pet will thank you."
