"After last night’s performance, I feel like five stars just isn’t enough. But here they are. Olivia Chacon is likely the most talented, flamenco artist in Texas. It’s 6:30 in the morning, and the dancing, the footwork, the music and the energy of everyone on stage plus the crowd is still in my head. I felt like I was in Valencia Spain again. Flamencura, I bow before you with great respect for what you’ve brought to this town. We will return to your shows again and again. You can count on that. Thank you Olivia. Thank you so very much."

"What an amazing experience, passionate and professional. The best class I’ve taken yet!! I was a bit reluctant because of my age and stamina! But the class is set for all abilities and skill levels. After only 2 sessions I’m amazed at my progress!!!"

"Went to a show here, and was blown away! I’ve seen flamenco a couple times in Granada and in NYC… but who knew that right here in Austin was a group that could give Sacromonte’s performers a run for their money?! It was a fabulous show, and I appreciated that there was a bit of Austin shining through in the joy and multicultural fusion - it didn’t diminish the authenticity, but added a really cool perspective to the flamenco tradition. Add this to your Austin bucket list!"

"Olivia Chacon helped make dance a beautiful and special part of my life. I took flamenco lessons in Spain when I studied abroad for a semester, then couldn't find a place to continue learning when I got back to the states. Finally, when I moved to Austin, I stumbled upon Flamencura. And I'm so glad I did. Olivia holds consistent, weekly classes for four levels of adult students, and one for kids, plus Saturday specialty classes, so it's easy to find the right class for you. Her classes are always the right balance. They continually challenge you, but don't push you past your limits. You really learn and grow as you go along. I also love that she mixes technique with choreography. It's really fun to learn full dances and then get to perform them for your family and friends. She also makes sure you understand the "why" of flamenco. She'll often give mini-lessons about the origin of a particular type of flamenco, and sometimes quiz you on what type of flamenco is playing during a warm-up. I've enjoyed my time at Flamencura so much and am so grateful to have Olivia and her studio in Austin! Ole!"
