"I recommend piano lessons at Franklin music academy. My young daughter has been training with Nathan for nearly a year and will continue. Nathan is kind, patient, funny and knowledgeable. Learning music can be overwhelming, especially for a child, but Nathan has an ability to teach and explain in a way that’s fun. Plus, he welcomes me and my young son to sit in on the lesson. JP always encourages and congratulates my daughter when she earns a ‘name move up’. At the end of the lesson she is always proud of herself.. can’t beat that!"

"I have had the pleasure of being a student at the Franklin Music Academy since the age of 7. I am now 18 years old and I can confidently say that I have grown not only as a pianist and as a performer, but as a person in general under JP's careful instruction. Both Shani and JP have done an excellent job at making me feel comfortable and cared for as I pursued my passion for music, and I have always felt encouraged to work hard and remain resilient. "I have absolutely LOVED my experience at Franklin Music Academy! JP and Shani are so lovely to work with and Nathan is an incredible piano teacher. Going into piano lessons as an adult could be intimidating, but Nathan was so great about hearing out what I was interested in learning and not just teaching me how to play the pieces, but why different pieces were conducted the way they were, talked me through music theory, and curated my assigned pieces based on my personal skill level and interest. I had to stop only because I was moving to Dallas but I wish I could stay!!"

"The atmosphere and energy of the Franklin Music Academy is warm, welcoming and upbeat. This is really important for younger learners, especially younger and shy learners like our 12-year daughter, who has now been learning from co-owner and main teacher JP for over a year now. Our daughter has musically (piano) thrived under his guidance. Although she only sees JP once a week, in just a few months of starting she was playing songs that we enjoyed listening to and could sincerely compliment her on. JP’s genuine straight up enthusiasm for and skill in teaching accounts for no small part of her growth. It was also JP’s openness to teaching our daughter scores that were of interest to her personally, that she chose, that I think helped motivate her to get through the challenge of mastering the scales (a point where some kids give up because they don’t want to do the hard work). I am sure there are many fine (piano) teachers in south Austin, but for the above reasons alone, the Franklin Music Academy and its teachers (who offer lessons in many other instruments), merit your checking them out."
