"Although this school has some issues, It isn't that bad of a school when you look at neighboring Austin ISD schools. Some of the administration is great, they go above and beyond, most of the teachers are great. Let's start with the pros. 1. Mostly good teacher's 2. Most of the administration cares a lot about their jobs and students 3.Good PTA 4. Good band program Here are the cons 1. Bad teachers are really bad 2. The school has had a lot of incidents this year 3. A lot of "tough" students 4. The counselors harassed my friends family, and almost had him strapped down in a bed for 72 hours."

"The principal and AP were racist and extremely rude to me because I'm African American and have depression and anxiety. They treated me like I was insane. When I was bullied I pushed someone away because they hit me and swung first yet it was my fault for doing something. They stop the teachers from getting involved. A girl slammed my head into a metal door and she locked me outside, then I get in trouble for knocking on the door and begging for help when I got a concussion. They didn't even punish the girl. I got punished for being outside crying and begging for help. The teachers were forced to be quite and not say anything. I also have narcolepsy and cataplexy and I fell and couldn't get up and they punished me for "acting""

"In my 17 years of being a parent of 3 this is by far the Worst school my child has ever attended. Very rude disrespectful teachers that are snippy and have a chip on their shoulder they constantly discipline children for the most ridiculous things. Simple Things that i would never even consider an issue. My child has gotten food poisoning twice from the cafeteria he now takes his lunch everyday. The traffic in the morning is a mess with children almost getting hit by cars. And the school does nothing about it. They changed my child's classes that he signed up for way ahead of time 2 days before school started due to a "mix" up. Avoid this school at all costs. There is much better out there in the district."

"Dearest apologies for past replies regarding this school. From the words of a former attendy, this school has some issues regarding the staff. From reports, the school has a Music Friday which is supposedly "so loud that it hurts your ears," and the staff do not teach the students a whole lot, rather there is a massive Teacher's Union in the school versus various students and their friends. There has been reports of inappropriate behavior including violation of student's space, false detentions, and even one report of a staff member kissing a student out of anger and touching them inappropriately. Overall, by the words of this former student of which the name will not be revealed, the rating is 2 - 1 star. There has also been rumors of gangs in the school as well, and there is a huge bully problem."

"I used to go to this school a few years ago myself. Honestly, it may have been a better school at one point, but if it ever was, then it's REALLY gone downhill. First of all, the staff do not listen to their students. They are not open to ideas, and if anything happens between a teacher and a student, then it's the student's fault. There was one teacher assistant there who was in our English class every day. We always did our work, but she'd always try to get me, my brother, and my friends in trouble. She tried to isolate me away from everyone, and away from my brother (which thankfully didn't work). There was also one time after the writing test in 7th grade where we had to wait in one of the English rooms. One of my friends was messing around as usual, and the teacher assistant kissed him on the head three times... He looked very freaked out after that. There was also a time where my brother saw that same teacher assistant touch our friend inappropriately, but yet nothing was done about the matter. Now since the teacher assistant would NOT leave me, my brother, and my friends alone, we tried to talk to the principal about it. She would not budge (even when my parents sent her an email), and nobody would do anything about the situation until we actually threatened them with the law. The teachers often don't know very much about what they're teaching either, sadly (with the exception of Mr. Bennet (the Texas History teacher), and maybe a few other teachers as well). They are usually there for the job, only getting in because they have a degree. However, there were a few teachers there who were pretty good, and deserved better. Now over the years, I've heard that this school has changed principals many times. I'm not sure what this school is like as of now, but I would not trust that it's gotten any better. Your best bet is to go into an online school, if you are to live in the Austin area."
