"I will never go to Firestone in Oak Lawn again. I brought my car in to get new tires which cost $1,000. After they did the work I noticed that they damaged one of my rims. When I brought it up to the Manager, he wouldn't even consider the fact that one of his technicians did it. I brought it to a Master mechanic who said yes this was caused by their Technician. I also spoke with another Tire place and they confirmed it as well. Firestone's claim manager asked for a quote and price for a new rim, which was $762 and then I never heard from them. Why would he ask for a price if he didn't believe they did it?? On their wall when you walk in it says, "Customers are the foundation of our business". They should add, "as long as it doesn't cost us any money". It's a real shame because I spent thousands of dollars at Firestone and they wouldn't even consider that they caused the obvious damage. I would stay away from Oak Lawn Firestone. There are other options. Looks like the same thing happened to Jose another customer a year ago."

"Routine issue installing a brand-new battery tell me the very next week my truck is dead, died completely on the way to work, I call them about the issue and informed them how could this had happened like the battery is brand new, they told me get it towed here and we will look at it in a couple days. WHAT!? I feel like since they clearly screwed something up it should be a priority; you didn’t test anything after installation?? I was so furious I didn’t even want to bring it back. I should have listened to the reviews."

"I am an Oak Lawn resident and have gone to Oak Lawn Firestone since 2018 for regular maintenance on my Toyota Camry and Highlander. In October 2023, I requested and paid for a full synthetic oil change for my Camry. When I picked up my vehicle the sticker said conventional oil and after checking the oil dipstick the oil looked dark brown-not the lighter color of synthetic oil. I returned inside Firestone and spoke to Grace and explained my problem. She apologized and explained she would have the technician “do it again.” When I asked how this mistake happened, she said she did not know. I have had engine trouble this past month and took my Camry to a different mechanic and was told the engine has been damaged beyond repair. I find it frustrating and pretty upsetting that I bring both of my vehicles to a business in my neighborhood that I no longer trust to do honest work. I have two small children, work part time and my husband works long hours. I do not have the time to double check the work of a professional that should know what they are doing. Not to mention an engine on a 2013 Camry that is brought in for regular maintenance should make it well past 140,000 miles."

"I was at a store and car wouldn’t start when I came out. Had roadside assistance to get get it started. Did not want to go right home because the next morning it might not start. Drove a few blocks to Firestone. Car died out when I was in the parking lot. They were a half hour from closing. David was very helpful and friendly. Had my battery checked out. Battery, altinator checked were good. Had to leave the car for them to run diagnostics. Was fixed the next day. Very happy as we only have the one car. Don’t remember the woman’s name who kept me updated with the status of my car but she was very nice as well. Very pleased."

"If I could give a negative star review, I would. My daughter is a college student in the area. We use our local Firestone when her vehicle is at home. Before she left for her Christmas break, she took her car in to this location for an oil change and to check her tires that had a slow leak. The tires were bought exactly a year ago through Firestone and we had bought the protection plan on them. After the car was worked on, she paid for the oil change and was told they fixed the issue with the tires, but there was no charge for that because of the protection plan. She then left the car at her grandparents' home for a month while she traveled home. When she returned last week, her tires were still not holding air and she was having error messages regarding her engine. She took it to another mechanic who found that the oil had never been changed. There was barely any oil in the car, the filter was filthy. the sticker had never even been changed in the car. We ended up having to pay an extra more than $200 to fix the issue. Plus, the tires are still leaking air. After calling the location and speaking to the manager, he agreed to refund the cost of the oil change. He could not verify that it was done but he claimed they did work on the tires by smoothing out the rims. When my daughter went to the location for them to run her credit card to get the refund, he did admit that the oil change was never done. I'm furious! It's been extremely cold there! They risked a 19 year old college sophomore being stuck on the side of the road in freezing temperatures. He still claims the work on the tires were done, but why are they still losing air. I don't believe they did any of the work. We will not ever return to this location and if corporate doesn't further make this right, we will no longer visit any Firestone."
