"I can’t say enough good things about this veteran-owned and operated outfit. If they don’t have what you are looking for, they can have it in your hands in 24-48 hours from the distributor. From WW2 to modern PCC’s, these guys have it. Skip the big box stores and start a relationship with REAL gun guys. I know this sounds like an ad, but it’s just a truly satisfied customer."

"This place is awesome. Jeff and his staff are so professional. Most of the guns I own have been purchased through Chisholm Trail. This is a top notch business. As a business owner myself, I am proud to endorse these folks."

"I have been visiting this gun store for a couple years now and it is hands down probably my favorite LGS I have been to. As an old firearm collector it is such a breathe of relief to find a store that has older guns in inventory especially surplus/military. Staff is great to talk to as they are veterans like myself. As a younger person in an older dominated hobby, it’s nice to talk to the owner and staff about such firearms. Can’t recall a time I’ve ever gone there and had a negative interaction, even if I was just coming to look and had no intention of purchasing anything. I’ll be coming here plenty in the future for sure."

"I've been in here about half a dozen times. Each time I've felt unwelcomed. The staff isn't very friendly either, not very talkative, short answers, ect. Some of their guns tend to be overpriced as well, but not all. This was an insight from previous visits. I ordered a gun online and mistakenly had it shipped to this location (only for the convenience of being close by, which is actually more expensive going through them too) This gun is also nowhere to be found in any store, so ordering it online was a must and I knew that going into this. I go in to pick up the gun. They took a copy of my ID and had me fill out a form. I asked if there was anything I needed to do to transfer this over to at a later time because this was a wedding anniversary gift for my husband. At this point, they refused to let me have it. They exited out of the form I was filling out and told me I had to bring my husband in. This was suppose to be a surprise gift for our wedding anniversary next month. So bringing him in alone would ruin that. I reluctantly called him and he wasn't able to since he was working. The two older gentleman kept saying it was against federal law to buy a gun and gift it. Everything I saw online said it was legal to purchase a gun knowingly to gift it afterwards. The last update was in March 2023, which still states its legal. The two gentleman kept saying it changed 6-8 months ago and how most people don't know about it yet. I called and spoke to several other gunstores around my area, all of them agreed that it was legal to do so. I've spoken to police officers at the burleson police department, they said it was legal as well. One of the cops even mentioned how his wife recently did the exact same thing for him. The two older gentlemen kept arguing that most places or even our local police department don't know what the law is. I'd also to add, I explained the full situation to all parties, so everyone was fully in the know about this. If everything online, police, other gun stores are saying its legal and will allow it, I don't understand what this store is doing. Another gunstore offered for me to transfer the gun to them so I can receive it through them instead. They were fully aware I'd be gifting it to my husband in a month. They also said it's possible this location was worried about a straw purchase, but if I explained it was anniversary gift for my husband, it shouldn't be a problem, which I did tell them this. In this case it would not be a straw purchase. A straw purchase is knowingly purchasing a gun on behalf of someone else who plans to use it for criminal purposes. This was a gift to my husband who had no idea about said purchase, so therefore wasn't on his behalf. Also, he is legally allowed to own firearms and will not use them for any criminal activity. If this is how this store wants to handle these things, then okay fine. But I shouldn't be told I'll get into legal trouble for gifting a gun away in a month. The gun would be mine and mine alone, until the right time came. Which is perfectly legal. I literally left this store so upset I ended up crying in the parking lot. I was so proud of my gift and thought this would have made our anniversary even more special. The store offered to hold it until he can come up there, but at no point offered to hold it for an entire month. Perhaps there was miscommunication at this point. My husband is now well aware of this gift, a whole month early, and this is incredibly disheartening for me. I came back with my husband and it was smooth sailing after that. I tried talking to the older gentleman running this store, and where in the law does it say I can't gift it away after purchasing it. He just kept telling and showing me the paper my husband filled out and said "it's all right here" Everything I've gathered up is that this location is just overly cautious, rude, and perhaps weary of young customers coming in. I will never do business with them again. I hope they learn better customer service. That includes on how they respond to negative reviews as well."
