"Plato's Closet in Coralville is a nice, clean, well-stocked consignment store with friendly employees. Clothing items are organized by size and color. With a focus on clothing, the store doesn't have the sprawling clutter of larger consignment stores with many types of products. Because they specialize in clothing, it seems like the quality and selection are better than general purpose consignment stores."

"Pros is that they have probably one of the best plus sized selection of thrift stores in the area. Cons are the dressing rooms are pretty bad and the staff are cold/dismissive to me every time I go in. Definite mean girl vibes; I always thought it was because I’m trans but after reading other reviews it’s probably because I don’t fit the sorority girl image that the majority of the staff seems to have (or it’s both, who knows) Great place to shop if you like it when a bunch of basic Beckys in forgettable fast fashion fits look down on you."

"One of the few places I've been body shamed. The staff didn't even acknowledge me when I came in. It was like pulling teeth to get a dressing room. Then as I went to check out they stared at me instead of coming to check me out. They were quick to greet and help the smaller sized, young girls coming in. Snotty girls who definitely need a reality check. I will not return. Bad taste in my mouth."

"I usually hate shopping at second hand stores cause I can’t seem to have much luck, but this Plato’s closet location has some gems. It’s a big store with mostly women’s clothes - the men’s section is a small corner yet they’ve got good quality and it’s reasonably priced. Overall the store was kept clean and staff was very attentive despite it being somewhat busy. Will definitely go back!"
