"I wanted to share my story. 2 years ago I took my niece out to Portillo for her birthday. After ordering the food I realize I forgot my wallet at home. I told the Register That I forgot my wallet at home please cancel my order. She spoke with one of the managers and gave me a free meal for all of us. I believe it was more than $80. I wanted to say thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I tried to tell them that I will come back to pay, They told me no it’s OK. It was a gift for my Nieces birthday. God bless you and your Team Portillo's for being a family restaurant not just a restaurant."

"Really good spot to get food at. The hotdogs are my favorite item on the menu. The spot is fun, family, friendly, and has some thing for everybody. We don’t have any of these down in Texas, so it was a real treat to taste this in Chicago."

"We had a great dinner, usual for us. Italian beef and a Maxwell Street Polish with onions. Also had baked mostacioli which was very good. We got a couple of Italian beef sandwiches to take back since we drove over. There's a lot of decorations as well."

"We drove 7 hours from Kentucky and had to stop at Portilloes in Crystal Lake. We dined in (Italian beef) and the general manager and a couple young ladies helped us out by fixing our 6 Chicago dogs to bring back home. Yall rock, best dogs in Chicago hands down. As always the food, service and all around experience is a 10 star. Thanks"
