Plato's Closet Schaumburg

"I would like to suggest Plato’s to implement a humanity, respect and professionalism training program for their staff because they desperately need it, similarly to how companies have obligatory inclusion and diversity training. I have never walked into this Plato’s closet and felt like I was actually treated well by the staff. Today, however, takes the cake. First of all, the store was supposed to close at 9 pm today but the staff closed the doors at 8 pm and notified me while I was in the changing room that they were about to close. I didn’t mind because I was about done anyway. I made my way to the register when I saw my aunt outside wanting to be let in. She was in style encore but they had also closed early so she was forced to leave. What makes this incident so particularly hurtful is that it was -16 degrees outside and the girls wouldn’t let my aunt inside just because they had already locked the door. I requested the white girl to let my aunt in while I get checked out and she ROLLED HER EYES AT ME. Even then I gave her the benefit of the doubt because I thought perhaps she assumed my aunt was coming in to shop. Before I could clarify this she turned to her coworker to complain and groan about the situation all while I was standing in front of her. When she turned back to me, I told her she did not want to shop she just simply wanted to be let inside because it was so cold outside. SHE ROLLED HER EYES IN MY FACE AGAIN. Then she asked if my aunt had keys to the car and I told her no that I had them. SHE ROLLED HER EYES FOR A THIRD TIME!!! Turned to her coworker to complain again and then finally told the girl who was standing by the door THE ENTIRE TIME to let my aunt in “but she could only stand by the door”. They were acting as if my aunt was going to come inside and loot the store when she only wanted to be let inside because it was freezing cold outside and I had clarified this multiple times! Unfortunately, I could not catch the name of the employee but she’s tall, white, has a perpetually miserable look on her face, and rolls her eyes a lot. There is no manager to keep watch over them so the staff treat the customers however they please, some of them do not possess even an ounce of decorum. Please teach your belligerent staff to treat your customers with respect and some humanity. It would be much appreciated."

"I can’t recommend. It felt like they were biased towards me, and I wasn’t offered anything even though I had tons of quality and in-fashion items I believe due to this bias. Staff came off as extremely passive aggressive and petty. The store was filthy as well and the setup of the store was poorly done. I will not be returning or recommending to anyone."

"This is my least favorite Platos closet location. Their selections are all so drab and the same styles over and over. I know they have to find styles that are “in”, but have a little variety? Another thing is they are ALWAYS saying they have too much inventory and your items they can’t accept due to it being “out of style” or it’s an “older style”. I’ve bought items there and one month later I try to resell it back and that’s the excuse I get. Really…a month later and it’s out of style? I think not. Depending on the day the staff at this location are too busy talking to each other to help you out, or they just seem disinterested in even being there. Go to the Glendale Heights location if you can take the trip. It’s twice the size, has way more variety to choose from, and they generally accept more clothes when selling! Overall this location is at the bottom of my list. I’d rather go to goodwill than here lol!"

"Hello everyone. I would like to leave a few words about this place, everyone has their own experience here, but my opinion, like most other people, has already written NEGATIVE in the reviews! NUCLEAR what was not pleasant was the girl who did not kindly begin the information to me, she just didn’t she paid attention to me because she was busy on her phone, when I asked if I could bring things, she rudely replied that I had to wait a long time, I said there was no problem, and brought the baskets. The staff simply behaved disgustingly, showing with all their appearance that I was not welcome there, no one came up and helped me with the questionnaire. Maybe there was just such a change of employees that day, I don’t know what to say. But I want to say that your dissatisfied personall need to visit Platos clothing, which is located in Chicago! This is a 5-star staff! Those who love it work there! Your personal are doing everything so that there is no more desire to come to you! And it’s not even about things and money, and in relation to customers! thank you I hope you really can to change something on your place."
