River's Edge Inn

"We hadn’t seen our friends in a very long time. We at the spur of the moment decided to go to Rivers Edge since their food is good and the salad bar is amazing. so what better place to get to catch up on things with our friends. They were running a little late, which was not a problem. We had already been seated for five. In the middle of eating our dinner, the waitress came over and placed a reserved sign on our table. She then let us know, you guys have plenty of time this was for later on. She then at 6:30 came over and basically made us leave. I have to honestly say, I’ve never been asked to leave a table. We hadn’t even really been there that long and we hadn’t seen our friends in a while. There were still people there when we got there, and we still ended up having to leave before them. Very rude and frustrating."

"This place is wonderful. The food is delicious, The people are friendly and fun. The atmosphere just makes you wanna laugh and smile! Start the day or night out right. There's slots, tv, and some amazing food. I had the shrimp and chicken combo with hash browns, and as you see I had to take a bite before the camera got a shot! It doesn't look like a lot but man will it fill you up, I grabbed a to go box. When I went I was the the only one in restaurant because of the snow but I've seen them packed before."

"We went here for lunch last week. We have previously been here for dinner, about a year ago. We did not know the salad bar started at 4 PM so we missed it. They have a fantastic salad bar. I had an OK steak sandwich and my husband had a bacon, lettuce and tomato sandwich, also OK. The service here is amazing and the view is great also. I would say go for dinner if you can, it’s a better menu and the salad bar is the start of the show."

"Beautiful river view from dining room. They were very welcoming. We had great service. Our steaks were cooked perfectly. I got the pick 3 deal which was a ton of food and included soup and salad bar. The mash potatoes and gravy was like my MA used to make, so tasty. We will definitely go back next time we are in Dixon."

"The food is good, the atmosphere is a little lacking. There's a lot of potential in this location. The service was good, prices fair. Update 5-27 This time, the atmosphere matches the food! The only reason for 4 star is because we requested water with no ice and received with ice and despite the request for crispy hash browns, they were barely cooked. :( Still good, but not up to two requests. Will try again when in town and hope to get this 4 to a 5! It's a lovely diner fare, recommend."
