"Stay away from this community. We decided not to renew our lease. I am a resident and my car was towed while being in my own parking spot, that I have to pay a monthly fee for. Management says they are not responsible for it. The towing company alleged it was due to expired registration, they claimed and sent pictures that they posted a warning in our car with a 10 day notice before being towed. This is false, it was never in our car. They put it in your window, take pictures and remove it. They know it’s illegal in Texas for a landlord to remove your car from the property without giving notice. Management says they can’t do anything for you but they are quick to send you an eviction notice . Then a week later my visitor car was towed while being registered on the website provided and being parked on a authorized spot . This is ridiculous and unacceptable. Rent is not cheap here and it’s so tacky you can’t even have visitors come in with a peace of mind their car won’t be towed."

"Maintenance staff is very friendly, and facilities are not bad at all. Unfortunately have had bad experiences which I will point out , but decided to put up with them until the last one, which is the last drop in the glass of water. First, I stepped outside to receive a package and somehow my dog managed to jump on the door and close the lock, it was a Saturday evening, tried contacting someone , created a request to open the door. When contacted maintenance very clearly stated that it was an emergency since it was in the middle of winter, raining and my dog inside alone...They said "we dont know when someone will come" On the support ticket I stated the same and it wasn't attended until the next day. Was waiting on the rain and cold for about 3 hrs and finally had to go somewhere else for the night leaving my dog alone for the night. Second, the doors leading to the pedestrian ways never work, never close properly. I have been here a year and until recently they decided to change them. AFTER 1 year During the 12 months I have been here the constantly have to shut the water off "for maintenance" it has been no less than 5 times they have closed the water on us. Have had 2 packages stolen from the package room, one i was able to retrieve it after complaining. All of these I just decided to put up with it, but recently I got a job offer from abroad and wanted to see if there was a way to reduce my early termination fee, since i have a 14 months lease. Manager was very "friendly" but assured me there was nothing he could do in spite of me knowing well that they can actually get rid of that. I am not moving for fun, and I understand that technically there is a penalty if you leave early and they are within their rights, but still after them failing to provide a satisfactory experience all around they could be a little bit more lenient on that. Anyways, that's my two cents."

"I would give zero stars if that was an option. I feel compelled to share my extremely disappointing experience with this apartment community. Unfortunately, the lack of communication and an unjustified towing incident have left me with no choice but to express my concerns publicly. Despite possessing valid parking registration, my car was towed without authorization from our assigned carport. The reasoning provided was invalid parking, a claim I vehemently dispute. What's more concerning is the apparent failure in the communication system. The warning, which the towing personnel claim to have issued, was never received. The towing incident itself was a nightmare. I was nursing my 6-month-old infant when the tow person, displaying a complete lack of empathy, refused to wait for a minute as I rushed to retrieve essential items from my car. This behavior is not only disrespectful but also poses serious questions about the community's choice of third-party vendors. The attempts to reach out to the resident manager, Anthony, have been met with silence, with no response to my emails or calls. This lack of responsiveness has only added to the frustration of an already distressing situation. This experience is far from the positive living environment we expected when choosing this community. I seek a resolution for a refund of ridiculously high impoundment fee, compensation for the lost workday, and the mental harassment caused by the unjustified towing incident, of which Cortland holds equal responsibility. To potential residents: Be cautious when considering this community. The demonstrated lack of care, empathy, and communication raises serious concerns about the overall resident experience. Unfortunately, my attempts to resolve this matter internally have been unsuccessful, forcing me to share my experience to warn others."

"Recently moved out and was a resident since 2019. Rent went up about $550 since living there long term resident doesn't matter to these guys. No lease violation or late payments ever made. Also upon last lease renewal they attempted to offer monthly rent that was over $100 more than the price they had on their website. This was a red flag to me considering it felt like they did everything to keep us out than in the apartment. Upon moving out they attempted to charge for carpet cleaning (was advised in 2019 the carpet was used and if needed replacement they would replace free of charge), broken baseboard (have picture back during move in date where this was broken and sent to them), and shower resurfacing (pipe busted our 1st year there which was caused by them not having tile in shower installed properly). They are all about money and not about doing what's right by the resident. I also believe they are attempting to do airbnb on the floor I was at which can explain why they didn't want me to reside at the complex any longer intentionally raising rent higher than there market value."
