"We had issues with management resolving our concerns. They offered a fake apology and did nothing to remedy the situation or concerns. For the cost of this unit, $72,000 a year in rental fees PLUS utilities, you would expect better service. Just because you're paying the most does not mean you are getting the best. Find your kids a better place to live."

"Our unit was skipped over and never cleaned. We moved into a dirty unit with food, underwear, and dirt still everywhere. We were offered 2 weeks free of rent in compensation- but as you can imagine, the unit was never fully deep cleaned. Throughout our time at village east, there were multiple break ins to cars in the parking lot, packages stollen off the porch, etc. The AC / Heat system is also very old and outdated which caused it to constantly be broken and made for a very expensive bill. All in all, the location to TCU is great which is why I’m giving it 2 stars, but to say the least- Village East took over half of our security deposit away for cleaning fees (when we never had our unit cleaned initially) which is disappointing."

"I lived in village east for two years and had a terrible experience. I woke up to people breaking into cars at 3 am in the morning. People were going through our trash and leaving our personal items everywhere to the point where Fort Worth police contacted us to ensure that we were ok and had not been attacked. I notified village east and they did not do one thing. I asked that they just let my neighbors know so that they could be mindful and they did not even send out one email. I would not recommend this complex to any students looking for off campus housing."

"As a parent, we've looked at plenty of housing options. Village East provides fully furnished apts that are close to campus, well appointed, and the staff has been excellent; accommodating, on task, available, and informative. Upon move-in last year, with reference to cleaning, I had to do what ANYone has to do when moving into an apartment that others have lived. Yes, it was clean..and I still did my deep cleaning, but nothing was broken or in need of repair. I checked all 4 bedrooms and bathrooms, everything in working order. After move in, my daughter requested a new air filter and a lightbulb (flourescent) which blew under the cabinet. All issues were addressed the next day! I would recommend Village East to anyone looking to "off campus"...but not really off campus. As for safety, there is so much building going on by and for the greater development of TCU that any vagrants have been being pushed farther and farther away from campus. Between TCU PD and FWPD, things have proven to be safe and sound. This past year, VillageEast also indicated they will be investing in security cameras around the properties. Safety is something people need to think about ALL the time...on or off campus. Don't leave purses and bookbags in your car. Ever. I know some people move to FW from smaller, 'safer' communities, but FW is a city of reasonable size. Be smart. My daughter spent Sr. year at Village East with 3 female roommates. Couldn't have been happier with our decision. I'd recommend it to anyone looking in the area."

"Do NOT live here if you are at all concerned for your safety. Village East and their staff are unprofessional and do not care about the safety of TCU students. Here is a list of crime that has occurred while I have lived at Village East. 1) Repeat dumpster divers 2) My car has been broken into 3 times, each time it has been locked 3) There was a homeless women with drugs living in our bush 4) A car was stolen out of the parking lot of our complex 5) Packages outside the complex have been vandalized and stolen 6) A women with a weapon (gun) was living in our bushes The response from Village East on all of these was that they couldn't do anything. When asked why they don't have ANY type of security system they responded that it won't stop the criminal activity. For the amount I am paying a month, they can at least install cameras or hire a security guard. THEY DO NOT CARE. I have tried to talk to the owner about this many times, he or she is unreachable and instead I have to talk to their untrained staff. Avoid this place at all cost!"
