The Berkeley Apartments

"This would be 5 star if the customer service in the office was as nice as our apartment home. We pay way too much in rent to not have our concerns addressed. From our start at move-in, the customer service has been subpar at best. I was promised from Adonis new carpets upon move-in (or at least cleaned!), because the apartment had been toured in a lot, this didn't happen; there were indents from the previous residents furniture in the carpet. Oven and fridge interiors were not cleaned either. At move in, no one helped us with Dwelo, the changeover with the gate system that occurred days after we got keys, and any further community information (parking, trash, etc.) was just “figure it out on your own” attitude from the office team. The only thing they really cared about were the pool wrist bands. I was sent some off handed attachments forwarded from Jasmine and no walkthrough of how to get started with all these extra services.. as a nice welcome! Oh and they forgot one garage remote which came a week later. Maintenance team is wonderful and hard working! In the heat of the summer, I was assured maintenance would be informed timely about our downed AC, after a work order had been open for over 24 hours about this, my husband and I called Jasmine several times, she told me “I’ll let him know when I see him,” as though she shouldn’t call. She had waited 3+ hours in 100 degree weather after our calls to notify maintenance of our AC down. (I know this because maintenance showed us when he was called by the office on his phone.) Finally, this whole new internet of $75 monthly was never addressed directly with residents, upon renewal. I had to ask Carrie to inform me about this WireStar service before signing as the document is very vague, while signing my renewal. Happy the fiber is being installed but no one informed us when this is happening and how until I called the office with questions. They already posted $75 on March rent without even notifying the community when they were supposed to be installing the service. Shady! People work remotely and deserve to be notified in advance. The lease reads we should be notified of any change of service/install within 30 days. Even something tentative would be better than nothing… We were given a week to cancel our current services and potentially pay for both internet networks overlapping. Not ideal, and the office is definitely not thinking in the best interest of the residents. Each and every time there’s so many excuses but no one willing to get me straight, honest and sincere information or follow up when they find out. You just receive an attachment to an email as sufficient customer service and only after rent is paid!"

The apartment was lovely, updated and well kept, and the complex is safe, full of incredible amenities (beautiful pools, wonderful workout facilities), and a perfect location close to TCU and the surrounding area. For any prospective renters: the complex is surprisingly quiet given the number of 20-something’s, residents are friendly/respectful, and the pools are awesome!
