"I’ve been on Methadone maintenance treatment for more than 20 years, and I’ve been a client at 3 different clinics in Atlanta and now this clinic in Austin. All clinics come with TONS of federal and state bureaucratic red tape & endless regulations and policies that tend to change often (without much explanation, so never sure if it’s a government mandate or a clinic policy preference that dictates the change.) That’s a bit maddening. However, this clinic does as good or better a job of respecting its clients and treating everyone with kindness than most other clinics that are out there. MANY friendly and caring nurses/counselors (Melissa, Bethany, Katie, Arza, Brandy and Jade), Janet who’s up front in the North clinic is the greatest! The people make this clinic a step above the rest. Only complaint is that when they do, once in a blue moon, make a mistake, they will STUBBORNLY REFUSE to admit the error, even if you appeal to the Ombudsman. That “we are infallible”quality is terrible to see, either in a person or a business. I confess I have only experienced this behavior at the clinic once in 9 years. But still, it’s unfortunate and at the time was infuriating. One might expect a certain level of trust to be built between providers and clients after 6 or 7 years of treatment and not a single infraction — I mean no failed drug screens, never missed a dosing day, never complained about ANYTHING … not sure what more a patient can do to establish trust. Apparently, trust is something that is simply never earned, never established — at least in terms of management staff trusting a client. Other than this one concern, I recommend the clinic to anyone struggling with opioid addiction and who’s ready to get off the roller coaster, without the agony of withdrawal. "Honestly- methadone has saved my life. I've tried cold turkey, suboxone, abs subutex and every time I dreaded, absolutely dreaded getting sober bc it hurt so much just to be able to start the meds listed above, not to mention i kept throwing my self into precips- even on subutex. So when my cousin finally went to save herself and baby..i saw the change in her that she had been wanting for so long.. freedom from opiates but no pain or cravings anymore either.. it truly works if you really dedicate yourself to sobriety..as for the clinic, Yes it's been rough the last couple of months due to short staff and overworked councilors, but it's definitely getting better every day! Melissa, Jade, Kiva, and the other 2 sweet ladies that have recently started working as councilors have been so wonderful.. the new desk lady is nice and empathetic.. and very helpful when she can be.. it seems like they're trying and succeeding in getting this clinic back up running smoothly so they can start helping those who truly want and need it again ♡☆"

"This clinic, like all clinics, sucks. But, it sucks a little less than the others. Plus their new location is fantastic."
