"Beware and look somewhere else. I had a knee injury and knew something was internally wrong. I called to set up an appointment with Dr. Meeks (orthopedic surgeon) and was told I need to actually see a sports medicine, non-surgical doctor first (basically to avoid wasting a surgeon’s time if I don’t actually need surgery). I had to wait a week to see Dr. Li (super nice) who ordered an MRI. Waited another week to get the MRI, then another week to have a follow up with Dr. Li who said “yup, you need to see the surgeon.” Then waited 2 more weeks to get on Dr. Meeks’ schedule. Came a little early to my appointment and waited for 45 minutes before they told me he was in a Dynamo’s meeting and was running behind. Truth is, he wasn’t just running behind but not showing up. They asked if I wanted to see a the PA which I didn’t—I wanted to see the surgeon and had wanted that from day one. I was told the evaluation would be basically the same which I of course disagree with. When it was clear that Dr. Meeks wasn’t coming the PA came in and said he thought I should get some physical therapy and injections. I reluctantly agreed and waited WEEKS for them to get the injections approved. You should understand that I have good insurance and had met all deductibles for the year and had to use crutches due to the pain I was in. 3 of the 4 times I have been at the office they have announced to a packed waiting room “Dr. Meeks is running 1 hour behind” or “Dr. X is running 1.5 hours behind.” This is simply an unacceptable practice. The frustration and tension in the waiting room was palpable. I received some of the injections but simply cannot come back due to the lack of professionalism common courtesy for patients. From the date of injury to time I decided to look elsewhere it has been 3 months. That’s 3 months of pain and frustration. I don’t care if a doctor is the one that treats the Texans, Dynamos, Astros or even the Pope—there is a lobby full of people that are there to be seen and you should respect that. There are LOTS of orthopedic specialists in the Houston area—just give it some thought and maybe look elsewhere."

"This hospital does not have sufficient pain management for sickle cell patients. Doctors will send your child home while they are in a crisis. Check other hospitals."

"JUNE 2017 : Deeply upsetting experience & a crooked/broken business. My Dad sought help for his knee pain from Dr. Li (recommended by Dr. Tamika Denson-Willis). Dr. Li did an x-ray of my Dad's knee & reviewed it in his office. Dr. Li recommended a series of injections to treat his knee pain. Dr. Li then had his 'assistant' from the Caribbean perform the first injections. The assistant caused significant pain & had to re-inject multiple times ( due to his unsupervised inexperience). My Dad ended up literally - crawling out of Dr. Li's office. My Dad endured chronic pain for WEEKS following the first injection because of incorrect administration. When my dad called & complained about the painful event & significant pain at home due to the injection, the office manager went on to explain that Dr. Li is supposed to administer the injections himself & the caribbean assistant no longer worked there. My Dad ended up in the ER with a blood clot in the same knee (area) where the injections took place. My dad ended up completing the series of injections with Dr. Li as Dr. Li continued to say he did not need surgery & still no relief of knee pain was provided. Dr Li recommended my Dad to go through an additional series of injections & my Dad said 'NO, no more, I want surgery.' . My dad asked Dr. Li to move onto surgery. Dr. Li said he wasn't a surgeon & would not refer him! Dr. Li's business card reads he is an 'ortho surgeon.' Dr. Tamika Denson-Willis confirmed that Dr. Li is not a surgeon. In December 2017, my Dad sought medical & surgical help for a knee replacement outside of the Memorial Herman system. The new surgeon took one look at the x-ray Dr. Li took back in June (6 months ago) & said there was no need for an MRI, his knee was bone on bone and should have already had a knee replacement a year ago. So, for 6 months Dr. Li wasted, used and abused my Dad's insurance money all the while knowing from the x-ray he took himself, that my Dad needed surgery. Dr. Li wasted my Dad's time & caused him a long, enduring excruciating pain for half a year AND my Dad developed a blood clot from the injections Dr. Li's office provided. Need proof? Our family has it! Don't trust Dr. Li, he's an endangerment to the public.Dr. Li is not honoring the medical oath he took - because he did WAY MORE HARM and did absolutely NO GOOD."

"Did not receive my x rays because of a surcharge ! very upsetting , I pay my insurance then I pay cash in person and now I have to pay for x rays on CD which I've already paid for ! also I am referred to a MD in downtown that doesn't take my insurance, I have a broken hand and the Dr was in such a rush he tried to give me a hand shake twice . the whole experience was trash a waste of money and time . also I complained about the fee to get my x rays and some receptionist named Anna was supposed to call me back but never did. utterly disgusted"
