"I stayed for one night and worst mistake of my life. Booked through Expedia. The rooms were absolutely disgusting. There are bed bugs. People screaming and yelling all night long. Then I check my bank and they over charged for the room and added an additional charge for some unknown reason. Been trying to get ahold of them with no answer. Expedia has been as well. Whatever you do...don't stay here. Update: I was able to get ahold of the office for a minute. I started to express the issues and they hung up on me not once but twice."

"I contacted the hotel directly and spoke with a woman named Julie, who has an accent. I was making a reservation and had a few questions. I provided my name and credit card number to her. This woman was already frustrated and angry that I was asking questions. My last question to her, she raised her voice, stating that I asked many questions and that she was done with me. She slammed the phone and disconnected the call. Incredible that this is the type of front desk individuals who are there to greet and assist the customer. After all, I am paying for the room, it was not free. The telephone call was recorded. I would never advise anyone to stay at a place who treats guest such as she did."

"I chose the Edelweiss Inn Hotel located in New Braunfels because I thought I was going to give my money to a family that cared and not a big corporation. Boy I was so so wrong!! Original family SOLD- I did ask the lobby employee. New owners DO NOT CARE about you. We arrive to the hotel on July 21st , 2023 when summer external temperature was a record 103F and room AC was OFF when we arrived and room was VERY HOT. We stayed in the suite # 221 which is a bigger room in the 2nd floor and a corner of the hotel, located right besides the exit going to the main 35 highway. It was noisy throughout the night. It took 4 hours for the AC to bring the temp down to at least 80F. 6 hours to finally feel comfortable at around 70F since AC is older and room is a suite. We suffered from heat during THE FIRST 3 hours and wanted to move to another hotel but were too tired due to driving and working all day. Husband is 65y/o and he suffered from this experience. Grab bar is not safe (out of code) in the bathroom is coming off, when I held myself from the handle to go into the bathtub, the handle stick comes off and I almost felt. I have been going to the gym for the last 2 months, so I did not fall. I made my husband aware of this issue to prevent him from falling. Bathroom vent is not working. By code it should work because bathroom do not have windows. The bath tub is also at a height higher than a regular bathtub- SO IT NEEDS A SAFE GRAB BAR!! I had to raise my leg higher than in any other hotel with a bathtub; possibly because it is an old bathtub spa (?), but I am sure there are regulations around adequate bathtub height that hotels need to review/follow. The smoke detector is older than dirt; look like an antique, plastic is dark yellow. I wonder if it even works?? Coffee machine did not have coffee Sink did not have a stopper. The suite looks like a museum, very dated and dingy with old furnitures and unnecessary old equipment in it. Carpet looks old and dingy. I brought extra pairs of socks and after I took a shower I walked the carpet with my socks on because that carpet look old and gross. The stairs that goes to our suite cannot be used because the are UNSTABLE according to the hotel person in the lobby- she made us fully aware NOT to use the staircase going to our room (why should we???), so we needed to go out, up one level and then around and into the upper side of the lobby ( same place we left) and voila! we found our suite. This is a code violation. There is a fan falling off (you can see wire exposure) right outside our suite, this is a code violation. There is a grey bucket outside every AC unit in the first floor to catch the condensation. Is this a code violation? Lobby WAS HOT and uncomfortable, with no seats ( full of plastic plants, so you don’t seat or stay there) there is a loud plastic duck screaming at you when you enter and when you leave the hotel lobby. We should have listened to the duck! There was only ONE large towel per adult in the room (they don’t want you to use their water I guess) Also ONE KEY given to you, we were two- no questions asked. The refrigerator inside our suite was DIRTY. BUYERS BEWARE!!!"

"Don't be fooled by their Cheshire cat smiles, the Management is awful. Rooms are roach, spider and other creepy crawly infected. While I empathize with the Homeless that are housed there, some of them aren't safe to be that close to, especially if you have children."

"Rooms were the absolute worst, pillows felt like they were made of cardboard. Bed felt itchy all night, do not recommend using the bathrooms at all keep bathroom door closed at all times, needles found in trash, trashed wasn’t changed. Just to top it off someone offers me meth while wheeling in my luggage."
