"Did an impromptu overnite stay after a day in Castroville. Able to get into this motel last minute which was nice. We had dinner at Hermann and Sons Steakhouse (which was the reason we were in Hondo) which was like a mile away from the motel. We sat at the pool at night and really enjoyed the ambience. The room was sufficient to meet our needs, but just needs the metal safety lock repaired on the door. Coffee in the morning in the front reception available by 7am for our drive back to San Antonio. It was an awesome getaway and gave us that small town/in our own world feel that's important for mental health sometimes."

"This place was disgusting. The lock was missing, there was gross black mold stuff in the shower, smelled of smoke (supposed to be a non-smoking) and they are not pet friendly as they say they are. The lady at the front desk was doing the housekeeping too. I left my two small dogs in their cages for 20 minutes to go get food and when I came back she asked that I take them with me when I leave again because they barked. They are dogs, of course they’re gonna bark. Will not stay here again and I have told everyone I can think of to now stay here. She wouldn’t refund my money for that night so I had to stay there."
