Camp Anothen

"My 7 yr old son loves this place! He has been going to Camp Anothen the past 3 summers and just attended the T-giving Break Camp Days. We have no idea what goes on during the camp day (except for advertised activities and what he tells us), but he can't seem to get enough of the place! I appreciate the Christian themes, and it is much more diverse than the other similar camps. Having a bi-racial son, representation matters, and CA has a great mix of campers and counselors! How much do we love it? We live in Frisco and make arrangements for him to attend every summer! Great work, CA staff!"

"This camp's LIT program is a joke. They require the teens to do manual labor and set up the camp without training them. There is no structure and the younger children are able to treat the LITs anyway they choose (disrespectfully, of course) with no direct intervention from an adult. If you want your teen to be TRAINED, this is not the place. Camp Anothen does not provide adequate communication to parents about incidents."

"We have attended summer camps for the past 2 years and my daughter ABSOLUTELY has a blast every time! She literally talks about it for the entire year. Camp Anothen has opened up their grounds for birthday parties, so we jumped on the idea! They were so accommodating when it came to dates, having outside vendors and themes! The day of the party kids of all ages had a blast playing the ENTIRE DAY zip lining, playing Gaga ball, tag, dancing, exploring and just being kids in a safe environment ! Kids left the party crying because they didn't want to leave! Thank you for making daughters 9th birthday such an amazing experience"

"My children attended one week of this summer camp for the very first time this summer at the recommendation of a couple friends who were sending their kids as well. It was easily their favorite summer experience and both of them wished they were attending more than just one weeks worth. They had a blast and came home thoroughly exhausted at the end of the day. I appreciated their program filled with outdoor activities and friendship. My kids did many things they've never done before and felt happy and confident in their success. We will be signing them up for more next summer and every summer until they're signing up to be counselors here. The drop offs and pick ups were smooth, swift and safe. All of the counselors and staff were friendly and communicative and the kids loved their counselors. I was happy with all interactions. They went out of their way to make sure my kids were placed with their friends but also that they made new friends as well. So thankful for this experience."
