"I asked her "can you explain to me my bill". It was $98 bucks. It appeared I was overcharged. She replied to me "can I count". Highly rude, condescending, horrible customer service, attitude, offensive, and childish. While I was there other customers witness and left the establishment."

"Update- I heard from the owner of this establishment.. He apologize and provided a solution to the dilemma. He promise to put trash receptacle at each side of entry. I hope the patrons will use them. That was powerful response.. Thank you Island Beauty… remember brothers and sisters your buying power is strong use it wisely.. Beautify our communities… Keep it Clean…God Bless! Trash in parking lot .. dirty diapers etc and when I brought it to the manager’s attention his attitude “ was people keep throwing trash down.” And when I told him I pass a lot of Beauty Supplies to come to his .. He told me” to go there…” We have to stop spending our money with those that don’t care about our neighborhoods.. I will never spend a dime here again… Please Black people demand excellence.. We spend millions of dollars in these places and to have a clean entry should not be a difficult task..Shame and disgrace…"

"TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! My wife visited Beauty Island this morning to purchase some beauty products. As soon as she opened the door to her car, she noticed a soiled diaper. She also noticed there was trash in the parking lot. She brought this to the attention of the man working the register. The man was on the phone. His response was the trash has only been there since the morning. My wife was there at 11 o’clock in the morning. Beauty Island does not take the comments of its customers seriously. The store manager wanted to know why she was so concerned. She shared that she passes many beauty supply stores to get to this one and she is a paying customer. The store manager’s response was that she can just go to those stores she passed. ************************** UPDATE!!!! After we posted our initial review, we immediately received two phone calls. We ignored them both. We then decided to use caller ID to return the call. We were delighted to talk with the owner of Beauty Island - Phillip! He was kind, courteous, professional and apologetic. He let us know he had to search for our phone number. He then humbly expressed how much he valued our business. He apologized for the response of of his employee. He then provided a solution to the trash. He will have a pair of trash receptacles on both corners of the store. (Please use them!!!!) This place is a class act! Excellent ownership. Phillip, thank you for calling us. It was a pleasure talking with you on the phone."
