Originally starting with Ascarate Park, one of the largest parks in El Paso County, the park system has expanded to include 13 parks in and around the county. Ascarate Park, designed by the National Park Service, offers a variety of amenities including baseball fields, tennis courts, a recreation center, and a golf course. The park is named after the Ascarate family, who were pioneers in the El Paso area.
In addition to Ascarate Park, El Paso County Parks & Recreation operates rural parks, the Sportspark, and pools serving nearby communities. The Ascarate Golf Course remains a community favorite, where many children learn to play golf. "Not a skate a skate park. A park you could skate at, has A rail but no ramps. Parking lot large enough but probably accommodate 25 cars. 5 BBq pits with tables and covering. Swings and playground ground. No biological female restrooms, just outdoors"
"This park is very nice! You can walk all around the park on the sidewalk. There's a volleyball court. The kids play area is super cool my son enjoyed it. We love coming here because there's plenty of shade with all the big trees and a shade over the kids park. The grass is very green and well taken care of."
