"‼️Warning‼️DO NOT do any business with George! He does not stand behind his cars or work! It took me 12 years to finally get my Bug from George's Buggy Shop straight, and it wasn't with his help. I bought the car and was immediately left stranded, waiting for assistance to get back on the road or home (I have so many FB memories of the Bug and me waiting for a tow truck that it became a running joke and not a good way). I would call George and his son for help, and they told me it wasn't their problem even though they knew the car never drove right after purchase. I should have returned the Bug and demanded a refund, but of course, he covered his a** by stating “as-is” on the paperwork. It’s sad the amount of people George has burned and the horrible reputation he has built for himself in the VW community. Thankfully, I found an honest VW mechanic who finally got my Bug reliably running and back on the road."

George’s Buggie shop was quick & enthusiastic to resolve the problems with extreme knowledge, honesty, reliability & respect for the customer. George explained the exact procedures and his assessment was “spot on”. If you want it done right & affordable,  this is the place to go. As you approach George’s Buggie shop, you know you are at the right place as there are VWs all over the lot! In spite of and located in the Medical center community, this Buggie shop continues to thrive. Although this location was across town for us, it was well worth the travel & traffic time. George is so passionate about his work, he calls the customer “after” the transaction to check on the repairs & customers satisfaction. He does not hesitate to go the extra mile to please his customers. And lastly, he is a dog lover & rescue enthusiast. He take good care of his furry family."

"We saw your shop on T.V. and were amazed at the awesome collection of toy car beetles and drivable cars that were on display. My 7 year old son is a collector of all things Volkswagen as well so we thought this would be the perfect place to take him. When we showed up at your shop we were greeted by a handsome little rooster named Henry. Then we met George, the owner. He began to show us his collection and tell us a few stories of how he became a collector. He is very passionate about the work he does. Outside there was much to look at as well. My son was so excited to see all the different buggies that George let my him sit inside a few of them as well and allowed us to take pictures. Shortly after we met his son Jose. He is following in his father's footsteps. Working on cars was his thing too. The father and son team were the friendliest and most passionate people. They took time out of a busy workday to show us around and we appreciate that very much. My son's birthday was coming up and George told him he would give him a ride in one of the beetles if we came back on Saturday. True to their word we went over Saturday morning and Jose took my son and I for a spin around the block. That made a forever memory for my son to have. I am very thankful to both of you for treating us with such kindness. My son said He Loves you Guys! and is telling everyone about his experience at George's Buggy Shop and so are we. God Bless."

"I had a terrible experience with Georges buggy shop. I paid them over $6000 to put a new engine in my van. The first engine broke down due to internal engine failure while we were about 3 hours outside of San Antonio. It cost us $600 just to tow the van back into the city, back to Georges buggy shop. George fixed the engine but it took nearly 5 months! Clearly it wasn't a priority for him. After waiting for months, I finally got my van back and took it out to try to do a weekend trip again. I was amazed to find that I could not even drive 30 min outside of San Antonio without the van breaking down AGAIN. This time it was a blown head gasket. Fed up and frustrated, I paid another $200 to tow the van back to San Antonio. GEORGE never paid for any of these towing costs and said that the van breaking down was my fault. He failed to accept responsibility for the shotty work that was done. Ultimately, I had spent so much money on this van, I couldn't spend any more to get the thing working again. In a last attempt to recover some money from the situation, I unwillingly sold my van back to Georges and lost thousands of dollars in the process. This has been the worst car experience of my life. Do not go here unless you would like bad work done and like to be screwed out of thousands of dollars."
