"My experience with this office has been a nightmare. In my first visit, I asked to see the copy of their privacy policy, to which the woman at the front desk whispered “Jesus Christ” to under her breath. Then, my follow up was supposed to be 6 months later and they were supposed to call me to schedule it. They didn’t. I called them. They scheduled me with a completely different doctor as just a quick surgical follow up so he didn’t have any time with me. I schedule the surgery and they send me an estimate - claiming they couldn’t find my insurance policy which they had already been using all year. Then they tell me they found the plan but it was terminated (it wasnt.) at this point I’m running out of time before the insurance did actually expire so I didn’t have time to find another office. Then they send me an estimate with incorrect information. When I asked them to include all of the medication I would be getting, they emailed me one where they HAND WROTE IN MY MOMS FULL SSN. Day of procedure, they try to charge me more than the estimate. I said no. I get through the surgery and they sent me home with instructions to use a syringe - but didn’t provide one. Finally I get my EOB which says I owe them money. I call and email for weeks and finally they say they’ve received something from insurance and will reach back out to me by the end of the business day. Shocker - they didn’t. They have since ghosted me again and are not responding to calls or emails. I would give this place negative stars if I could."

"This is the second time I am leaving a review. The first one disappeared. I could not have been more disappointed in Hill Country Oral. We used them due to our normal surgeon not having the availability to remove my son's wisdom teeth before he left for college. I now realize why my surgeon was booked. I have 5 kids and we use oral surgeons often. After having my son's wisdom teeth removed he had a large amount of pain in his left back tooth. So much that he was in bed for 5 days. I haven't ever seen this kind of tooth pain with any of my others, but I understand it is normal. Long story short, he went in alone for his re-check and the doctor was very sarcastic and compared his surgery to leg surgery and told him "Surgery is painful, if you had let surgery it would hurt" The doctor never looked inside his mouth. He stood in the doorway as the hygienist washed the tooth out. He told my son that he did not have a dry socket and made several more snarky comments. In and out within minutes. Yet, he called in a large amount of steroids and stronger hydrocodone. After my son left the office, the doctor called my son's father trying to get his personal phone number. He called my son on his cell phone and told him he was sorry and he was having a bad day. This is great, somewhat unprofessional, but he did apologize. Ten minutes later he texted my son asking him to remove the negative review that my son had left on Google reviews. This is unethical. I called the office three times to talk to the doctor and he wasn't available. I texted Dr. R and told him how I felt and asked what the strong steroids were for if he indeed didn't have a dry socket. He responded with a very long response - one that seemed to be used often. But he never told me what the steroids were treating. He then told me that my son told him during his first appointment that he used recreational drugs and this could be the reason for the pain. I have been home with my son for a week and with the pain he was in - it would have been tough using any drugs other than the pain meds. The doctor then told me that he couldn't tell me about the recreational drugs due to laws protecting my son. He was a little late- he had already done so. I was raised by physicians and both of them had a hard time taking me seriously when I told them about the calls and text messages. Never have they heard of a doctor texting anyone asking them to remove a negative review. Completely unethical. Dr. R speaking to me about any drug use is a HIPPA violation. I expected the doctor to ask us to come in and take a look at my son's tooth and discuss the situation. I had read several negative reviews while writing my review and they are no longer there as well. Something is afar with Dr. R. I would stay away and find another surgeon."

"I have 3 children and they have all had their wisdom teeth removed. My oldest we went with a different doctor and it took her nearly 12 days to feel fully recovered with several hiccups and setbacks. My other two kids had the procedure done by Dr. Rasmussen (my youngest had his removed 07/2023) and it was 100% a better experience! Both were up and around just after 48 hours and both were back to normal life and pain free by day 5. The staff from start to finish were professional and extremely helpful. The after care instructions are clear and easy to follow to avoid infections at home. I have referred many of my friends to Dr. Rasmussen and they have all had the same results."
