"Rent elsewhere! I rented a dump trailer from here and we started downhill right away. No one came out to help hook up the trailer or check that anything was working. Being in a hurry I did a quick walk around to check the tires, bumped the button to make sure the dump worked I'm headed back out of town to try to get a job finished. It wasn't until the next town when I had to hit the brakes pretty hard that I noticed I have no trailer brakes. I got back to the job site I had someone help me check the lights and found out only my two tail lights worked. No brake lights, no turn signals and no clearance lights. At this point it was too late to return it before the weekend so I loaded up the trailer and went to dump it. That's when I found out there was only enough charge on the battery to dump it halfway so I unloaded it by hand. Being stuck with it for the rest of the weekend at this point I used it for the next two days and returned it Monday thinking they would cut me some slack on the rental price as most of the trailer didn't work for anything other than a box. After talking with a secretary and then one of the owners he just looked to be it said "what do you want me to do about it" like it wasn't his problem. The tarp also wouldn't stay rolled up because the bar was missing and you had to strap it down to make sure it didn't come unrolled while going down the highway. I forgot to do this once and the tire caught the tarp and ripped a little bit. When I said this to the owner he said "oh yeah nobody really uses these tarps and don't worry I won't charge you for it". When I pressed him more about all the issues of the trailer he said "well maybe you should have brought it back and we could have done something but you rented it all weekend so it is what it is". Overall terrible customer service and I would highly recommend driving to another town before I rent it from this place."

"I just called to find out their hours of operation. The person who answered the phone didn't identify the place of business or who they were. So I asked if this was Lone Star equipment rental. He said yeah. I say ok, that's good to know. What time do you close today? The man replied, "Who am I speaking with?" So I said the guy who's not going to rent from you. I don't care if you're the business owner or an employee. If you don't have the courtesy to identify who you are and the place of business. You're not going to get my business. I don't mind driving. In fact, I'll drive from Andrews to Abilene if that's where I find good customer service. Whoever this bonehead is just cost that company a lot of money. I will never shop there. I hope being "cool" pays off."

"Staff was nice and accommodating. Even stayed late so we could pick up our rental after hours. Owner was very rude and unprofessional. Equipment I rented was defective to the point that I couldn't use it. When my wife returned it the next day, he said he'd take 25% off the price. When I attempted to negotiate with him over the phone (since I couldn't even use what they rented me), he got upset, threw a fit, declared that since I "wanted to be an ass about it" that I didn't owe him anything, then he hung up on me. When I called back to tell him I wasn't trying to get out of paying anything, I just didn't think it was reasonable to pay that much for something I couldn't even use, and that I felt his reaction was a bit unprofessional, he again said I didn't owe anything, called me an ass again, and hung up on me again. I normally rent from a competitor, but thought I'd give someone else a chance at some business. Won't make that mistake again."
