"Clothes Mentor has a variety of items to buy and always a good selection. However, on the “selling” side of the business…the amount of items they want to buy and the cash they offer is insanely imbalanced. (Honestly insulting). Don’t waste your time like I did. If you want to give them away, donate to a shelter. :)"
"I've always had great experiences with clothes mentor in Lexington Kentucky until recently. I brought in an authentic Gucci handbag to sell. It has serial number inside and I waited while they authenticated it. When I came back in the allotted time they told me they couldn't for sure authenticate it and they were going through some new system to authenticate items. My feelings were all over the place. I don't know if they didn't want to purchase my bag bc I didn't have dust bag or box or if they thought I had stolen the bag from maybe my employer, like I was a domestic or something going through Miss Millie's closet. It really hurt my feelings bc the bag was real and it was mine . I really feel like this would not have happened to any other race of woman bringing in a top of the line, authentic item for sale. A lot of people ask "why does race always come up in situations?" I'm going to tell you why. Because it does! This happened to me about 6 months ago and I haven't been back since then. I will never set foot in that store ever again."
"I sold many designer things to Clothes Mentor a few years back and the process was so easy. I went there last week, waited for about 20 minutes to check in my clothing for the buyers. Finally a staff member came over and said "we are short staffed so you will have to leave your items and come back at 6pm. This was at 12 noon. The conveyor belt area was backed up all the way to the end and 4 staff were up front. The store appearance has really deteriorated since I was there before. It looked messy and the clothing looked cheap. I will find a better place to shop."
"I LOVE Clothes Mentor! I always hit the jackpot there. Last night, my friend and I accidentally stayed a little past closing time, and Chianna, Stahr and Traci were so kind, and didn't rush us or act irritated in the least. They were also very helpful and friendly. Great shopping experience."
