"Good value for the lunch special-$9.50 gets happy family, egg drop soup, egg roll. The happy family had chicken, beef, and shrimp with no pork or that fake lobster stuff. It also had onions and bell peppers with no other vegetables. I expected more stuff to be in it. Not sure if that is the common recipe in this area, because it's not what I'm used to for happy family. The soup was very good, and the egg roll was average. Sweet and sour chicken was very good. All food was hot and a nice lunch size"
"Food use to be good…They always mess up on the orders. They use to deliver food to my street and out of the blue they decided to stop delivering it to my address. The Hispanic lady that’s in the front is always rude. Warning spend your money elsewhere you will be disappointed with the orders always messing up or missing items."
"I have been going here for at least 15 years and they have done an excellent job. I usually get the chicken fried rice but have got their beef from time to time. Their meat is premium. I never get meat that has gristle or fat in it unlike other places. I drive about 25 minutes one way from another town just for this food. This place is family owned and has been run by the same person since it opened. Nice quiet and well kept restaurant. Prices are actually affordable despite the poor economy. I recommend Silverlake Hunan to anyone looking for Chinese food."
"So I usually order the hot and sour soup, but I’ve went back and tried the beef and broccoli and the hibachi chicken. I was afraid to try anything else so I really wanted the worth to be there, especially for the chicken since it was $20 for the chefs special. I was right to be afraid and was so disappointed in both entrees. The soup is the only thing that saves this place but I don’t think I will be back. Things are higher than what they need to be, and I would feel better if the value was there. However, I see no value in over cooked chicken and bland at that… I wish you all the best and hope you can bring better food in the community …"
"My Mom and I had dinner here the other night and the service and food were great!! We had their crab puffs (crab yummy as they list on their menu), lettuce wraps, kungpao shrimp and chicken pad Thai. It did not disappoint! It's going to be the place I compare everyone else to now that I've had their food. You should definitely go try them out!"
